Powerful House panel to investigate Minnesota fraud: ‘Cannot be swept aside’

The powerful House Oversight Committee will hold a hearing next week to investigate the massive fraud scandal plaguing Minnesota, Chairman James Comer announced.

Comer (R-Ky.) has invited three Republican Minnesota state representatives to testify on the growing scandal in which over $1 billion was allegedly swindled from taxpayers by various fraudsters targeting the state’s generous social safety net programs.

“Next week, we will hear from Minnesota state lawmakers who sounded the alarm on this fraud — and whose warnings were ignored by the Walz administration,” Comer said in a statement.

“This misconduct cannot be swept aside, and Congress will not stop until taxpayers get the answers and accountability they deserve.”

The three witnesses set to testify during the Jan. 7, 2026, hearing are state Reps. Kristin Robbins (R-Maple Grove), Walter Hudson (R-St. Michael), and Marion Rarick (R-Buffalo).

In addition to January’s hearing, Comer is planning a follow-up on Feb. 10, in which he has invited Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison, both Democrats, to testify.

“Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison have either been asleep at the wheel or complicit in a massive fraud involving taxpayer dollars in Minnesota’s social services programs,” Comer chided in a statement.

“American taxpayers demand and deserve accountability for the theft of their hard-earned money,” he added.

“Congress has a duty to conduct rigorous oversight of this heist and enact stronger safeguards to prevent fraud in taxpayer-funded programs.”

Oh no, not that! An investigation?! The horrors.

I wonder if the Republicans will ever figure out that we mock their inaction? Probably not, they’ll just wait to be voted out of power, just how they like it.

The dems on the committee will spend their time decrying the ‘politicization’ of the Department of Justice and claim a racial motive in the investigation of Somali businesses only a tiny fraction of which. might possibly been involved in minor fraud. We will be told that the real victims are the Somalis who have been a bedrock of American society since they came over on the Mayflower.

When the other states get sucked into this, the numbers will be truly staggering.

Comer is also planning a follow-up on Feb. 10, inviting

Too bad “Comer aka Trey Gowdy” is conducting the hearings.

This committee has over the years grown to have way too many members on it and its hearings are basically a circus of blowhards exchanging personal attacks on each other.

Now we know why Harris picked Walz for VP.
They had to COVER UP what is coming to light now before the entire nation.

The House Oversight Committee is where government scandals go to die.

Well, it was just an oversight.

Ah yes. The “powerful” Oversight Committee. Where investigations go to be done behind doors and where crimes are covered up never to be heard from again.

I can’t think of any repercussions from an investigation by the Oversight Committee.

Laughable. Republicans never hold anyone accountable.

Yeah, swept aside, bla bla bla, powerful bla bla bla. As far as I’m concerned Our last hope is Trump setting up the post November’26 agenda which I think he’s planning. The deepstate is the deepstate and they aren’t going to do anything about anything. That wil be Trumps last shot.

Signs to look for, that Tim Walz is going to lose it:

He says “You’re darn tootin’”

He says “We run a pretty tight ship here.”

He says “Look, I’m cooperatin’ here. I’m workin’ with ya.”

He flees the interview.
