Itâs been nearly 20 years since Minnesota elected a Republican governor.
The former House Speaker Tim Pawlanty (R-MN) was the last conservative to earn that distinction, winning consecutive terms in 2002 and then 2006. Since 2010, the Democratic-Farmers-Labor party, or DFL as it is commonly known in Minnesota, has ruled the political roost in the Land of the Lakes. But the MAGA stalwart and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell is hoping to loosen the blue grip in Minnesota, announcing this week his intentions to run for governor of the state in 2026. In a statement broadcast to his eponymous platform, Lindell said he is âup to the task.â
At a rally in North Carolina on December 19, Trump spoke kindly of Lindell, although he stopped short of a full endorsement. âThese people went after him, they went after his company,â Trump said of Lindell. âThey did that with me, too, but at least I knew what I was getting into. He fought like hell. That guy deserves to be governor of Minnesota.â In comments following the presidentâs rally, Lindell was careful not to call the positive words a full endorsement: âI did not take that as an endorsement. Itâs a shoutout.â
But for Lindell, who faced extended legal scrutiny for vocally backing Trump during the fallout from the 2020 presidential election, the presidentâs comments in Rocky Mount were a green-light to get moving in a crowded Republican primary field featuring Lisa Demuth, the speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives, and Scott Jensen, a former state senator who ran for governor in 2022.
Despite nearly a dozen Republicans vying for the nominee, Lindell is looking beyond his primary opponents. In his announcement speech a week before Christmas, Lindell was laser-focused on the Democratic Governor Tim Walz...

Are we sure Waltz is still running for re-election there?
No. Just no.
Don’t know, but the responses by tampon and the democrat machine are wild.
Nothing to see here, keep moving😂
Lindell assets have been reduced to next to nothing...the best thing he can do is protect what he has left and start over, running for Governor is a pipedream
Doubtful, His Somali money (taxpayer funneled money) will dry up and Somalis will be hesitant to vote as they will be scrutinized and identified as either illegals or connected to illegal activity. They will hide and ride this one out.
Are his hands clean and did any fraud cash end up in his campaign account?
Speaking of fraud, how about the pubbie gubbernor of Ohio Dewine, and the fraud within the somali pirate crew in his state?
I have never trusted that slimy bastard and he has never done a thing to prove me wrong.
Other than strongly worded letters and public hand wringing on Fox News at 11:00 PM, who is going to jail and is any of my tax money going to be returned?
Yesterday someone related a story on just this where a local bar was packed with constituents complaining about the Somali problem to Emmer with his response being a shrug of the shoulders and a “what do ya want me to do”?
Agreed. A run for gov would wreck him. The communists would go after him tooth and nail. They would dig up some liars claiming he’d raped them in high school and others claiming he swindled someone, others claiming he sold drugs or whatever. He’d be crucified and have to spend the rest of his money on lawyers.
Minnesota is a failed state. Canada would welcome it into their little nest to better learn communism. Alberta would be a great trade.
Too many naysayers here. Reagan and Trump came from out of the blue to win. All 3 of these people were well known and they answered the troubled call. Same with Arnold.
This guy is positive and upbeat. He knows what its is to hit bottom. I’m sure his employees like him. Minnesota is too far left to think we can win with a conventional nominee.
What gets me about any case of fraud & some other cases especially where money is involved, is that nothing ever seems to get settled whereby those were defrauded ever get any of that back...or is that just not publicized?
Until you get rid of all the Somalians and other immigrants who are ripping off the taxpayers out of the country and tighten up the election laws, no Republican has a chance.
It’s one reason why the Democrats fight tooth and nail against Voter ID requirements to vote, in Minnesota a valid ID is not required to vote.

There is so much corruption that we can’t get it all.
Welfare is payment not to riot. It is the easy short term path.
The ONLY and I repeat ONLY way is to stop the flow of money.
Tough times is the only cure. Do you want that or maybe you want to put it off awhile......................
You know your state. On the other hand, here in Pennsylvania “Dr. Oz” got beaten like a drum. Name recognition only gets your foot in the door here.
Introducing myMinnesota™.
You can warsh, dry, and audit myMinnesota™!
I think Walz is going to be facing a peep walk soon.
Is Lindell the best the Minnesota GOP has to offer???
Wouldn’t that be a hoot, Lindell beating tampon Tim and turning MN red!!!
I live in Minnesota and have grown disgusted with the state GOP. They have consistently nominated lack luster candidates and ran very poor campaigns. The race for Governor again has gaggle of candidates a few good, but a lot of marginal candidates. The party never seems to have a focused message. They could well take Gingrich’s Contract with America as a way to focus their message. In the last election Walz was very unpopular due to his draconian COVID policies that crushed many small businesses, but his challenger a local doctor was very outspoken on abortion and the Democrats made abortion the issue and took control of both houses in the Legislature and Walz was reelected. I suspicion that the Somali voting block is enough to turn Minnesota elections especially when the Democrats can count on getting 150% of the Somali vote. Maybe this massive fraud might turn the election to the GOP, but I’m not optimistic.
