A ticket in Arkansas matched the winning numbers drawn on Christmas Eve for the Powerball's $1.817 billion jackpot.
The grand prize has an estimated cash value of $834.9 million, the second-largest U.S. lottery jackpot ever won, according to the lottery.
The largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history was won on Nov. 7, 2022, when a California ticket claimed a $2.04 billion prize.

But yeah, quite the “Christmas present” for sure: Waking up to find out one is the CFO of a mutl-million dollar firm is quite the “present”.
Finally! A red state winner!
I thought about it. I’d buy land. Have a little cabin with all the modern amenities (I’m not a caveman!) in the middle of it far from the human race! A big barn/metal building for all my tractors and construction equipment which I’ll just drive around and dig up stuff and then bury it again.
Maybe buy a couple of other big places in different climate areas.

Merry Christmas! That’s a very good and rewarding idea, my husband and I have been watching “idigit18” on YouTube and he pretty much has all that going on. Lots of jobsites, lots of good hard rewarding work. A nice home.

I’ve been told my odds of winning are about the same - ticket or no ticket.

I think that's about right. I think my good ole Irish Luck keeps me from winning.
I won 4 bucks which means I only lost 6 bucks on a 10 buck ticket.

I notice a trend of lottos getting high around holidays and wonder how many do without due to the lure of the big payout.
What a scam. Then you are taxed after winning dollars that were already taxed before playing. Super computer is in control.
