Hundreds of Christians in China will likely spend Christmas in jail this year, according to a recent report. Starting on Dec. 13, the Chinese Communist Party mobilized “more than a thousand police officers, SWAT units, anti-riot forces, and firefighters” in the Zhejiang Province’s Yayang Town in Wenzhou City, raiding churches and conducting mass arrests of Christians, ChinaAid reported Friday.
“Belongings of relevant individuals were illegally confiscated, roads leading to the church were completely blocked by police, and Christians in Yayang Town were unable to enter the Yayang church. The operation lasted nearly five days, yet no public statement was issued by officials,” the outlet noted. “Within just the first two days, several hundreds of people were taken away for questioning. On December 16 and 17, at least four more individuals were detained.”
Two local Christians, 58-year-old Lin Enzhao and 54-year-old Lin Enci, were labeled “principal suspects of a criminal organization” by the CCP, with locally-posted wanted posters charging the two with “picking quarrels and provoking trouble,” which ChinaAid noted is a “commonly used charge” by the CCP against religious and political dissidents. Over the past several years, CCP officials in Yayang Town have attempted to forcibly destroy church property, including symbols such as crosses, and install CCP propaganda and imagery, such as the five-star Red Flag and the CCP’s constitution. Enzhao and Enci were key figures in opposing the CCP’s efforts.

The left loves the CCP and I’m sure the American left would do the same, if they could.
Prayers for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ all around the world. There is so much suffering, yet we take so much for granted here in the USA.
“...picking quarrels and provoking trouble...”
demonKKKrats?
I don’t believe this piece of anti-China propaganda. Merry Christmas.
Ditto, tho’ I’m not Catholic, so I don’t think I have any right to be expected to be heard...
My brother married a lovely Christian Chinese gal, years ago. I’ll bet she’s glad to be in the US these days...
CCP has always persecuted Christians but have really ramped it up since Demon XI took control. Now, all churches must be authorized by the state and their leaders chosen/approved by the CCP. So, basically any church in bejing that meets in a formal building is not a church. Been there, seen it. Also, they have begun changing the language in the Bible to reflect CCP propaganda, even removing key elements of Christianity. Things are a bit better in Hong Kong but they are clamping down there as well. I’ve heard the CCP has also planted agents in American churches to spy on Chinese Christians here. CCP and Xi are demonic. Period. And we should have no relationship with demons, as a government, or otherwise.
The UK’s Deep State to the ChiComs: Hold our beer.
The further from beijing you get the better or worse it can be. Small underground and house churches are the only real option there now and the CCP always manages to get a spy or two in them.
In a sad, ironic way, events like this show the strength and true meaning of Christianity. It strengthens due to persecution. When it is not tested, as has been the case in the West for a while, it perverts into feel-good, trendy nonsense that drifts far away from its true meaning. These Chinese will be in jail with their faith and have comfort in that.
Those Chinese Christians could take some temporary solace because they have proven themselves worthy to be persecuted for the name of Christ.
For Organ Harvesting ?
I hope that was sarcasm. Hard to tell sometimes.
I have followed the underground church for decades and now, there is very little news coming out because of embargo.
Father, now Bishop Peter Shao has been holding the faith against sinicization at great cost to himself. He was appointed by Benedict and still suffers greatly for the faith.
