Hundreds of pubs ban Starmer, Reeves and all Labour MPs after 'cruel' tax grab

More than 200 enraged pub owners are banning Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and his MPs from their businesses in protest at increased business rates which they say threaten their survival. Hundreds of businesses have signed up to the Taxed Out campaign where boozers will bar Labour MPs from entering their premises.

This comes after Rachel Reeves announced that nearly 5,000 small pubs will soon pay huge business rates for the first time as the rateable values of premises are set to increase. Temporary rates relief will also be replaced with a less favourable system, meaning that a standard British pub’s annual business rates bill could be hiked up by a whopping £6,000. In certain cases, this could jump up into the tens of thousands of pounds, The Sun reports.

The boss of a big pub chain claims this could be a "tipping point that changes the shape of the industry forever".

Pub owner James Fowler, who came up with the idea to ban politicians, said: "You just feel like you are being ignored all the time, so it is a very direct and clear message that we are not happy with Labour MPs and the hidden taxes they have thrown onto us." Mr Fowler owns the Larder House pub in Bournemouth.

Despite multiple meetings between hospitality sector representatives and ministers, Andy Lennox, who owns six venues in Dorset, said "Labour aren't listening" and "more extreme measures are now needed". Labour's Budget saw massive increases in employer National Insurance contributions and wages, which, according to Mr Lennox, leads to a situation where "there's nowhere else to cut".

He told This is Money: "They [Labour] keep saying we're helping hospitality and it's just absolutely untrue.

In the run-up to the 2024 general election, Starmer told the BBC: "I would describe myself as a socialist. I describe myself as a progressive. I'd describe myself as somebody who always puts the country first and party second."

An atheist to boot. He ought to just come out, and go for the trifecta!

Plus... She has no place to drink anymore.

Bars and restaurants here should ban all demoncrat congress members because they’re going to shut down the govt again. They’re shutting down city pools, only having certain offices open a couple days a week, signed up a lot of city workers on unemployment, put maintenance workers on furlough days and you barely ever see cops in the blue cities. Probably one of the reasons the shooter at Brown U got away. They’re saving up money for war against Trump.
Dirty fookers. And US citizens are being fleeced, attacked, raped and killed because of it.

They might as well ban muslims from their pubs, for all the good that will do them.

And Rachel Reeves Is a ruthless and committed Communist. She is determined to confiscate all private property. England really screwed themselves when they handed total power to Labour.

The bad news? Starmer and Labour could not less. They need the money of pubs to pay NHS and all the freebies to “the boat ‘refugees.’”

,,, Starmer’s marxist government has tried to bankrupt farmers and now it’s pub owners. Only a revolution can save the UK now - or Nigel Farage can.

It’s the MO of the socialists. Come up with creative ways to tax the business class to pay for the welfare class.
