Police say the death toll has risen 15, with 40 people remaining hospitalized after a shooting at Australia’s famous Bondi Beach.
Police identified the two alleged gunmen as a father and son, ages 24 and 50. The 50-year-old was fatally shot by officers at the scene, while the 24-year-old “suffered critical injuries” and was hospitalized.
Officials declared the shooting a terrorist event and said the attack was “designed to target” Jewish people. An event to mark the first day of Hanukkah was taking place at Bondi Beach on Sunday.

Saw a clip (FOX) from a press conference in Sydney (AM Monday) that indicates the shooter(s) legally owned the firearms. Six of them. Maybe I heard this wrong. Anyone else?

The 50-year-old shooter in Sunday’s attack was a licensed firearms holder, according to New South Wales police.
“He has six firearms licensed to him,” Commissioner Mal Lanyon said at a news briefing.
The 50-year-old was shot and killed by police on the scene.
So Australia takes the guns from their law-abiding citizens and gives them to Pakistani Muslims. Makes sense.
