That should have happened the day after 9/11. Instead that idiot piece of trash George W. Bush told us that “Islam is peace”.
I know FDR doesn’t have many admirers here on Free Republic. But FDR outlawed the German-American Bund right after Hitler declared war on the United States.
Pity that W wasn’t more like FDR.

For all of FDR’s faults, he did put the USA first.

FDR was a poor president domestically. He transformed Coolidge’s small federal government into the monster we see today.
But FDR was a superb wartime president. He realized that Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany had to be utterly destroyed. No negotiated peace, as was done after WW1.
And FDR let his generals and admirals make the operational decisions. He did not interfere.
George W. Bush did actually the opposite. He let Islam off the hook. Then his administration interfered with military operations in both Afghanistan and Iraq.
- Sorry for my rambling here. It just infuriates me just how terrible W was.

FDR was caught up in the hoopla that a strong Central government was the way to go after seeing the success of Fascism in the early 30s, at that time, Fascism didn’t have the stigma that it ultimately had later on.

If George W. Bush had any class at all, he wouldn’t be hanging out with Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
Instead he’d be quietly volunteering at VA hospitals. After all, his stupid decisions put a lot of poor souls in the beds there.
Bushes and Clintons go way back.
