The government absolutely has the power to prevent and breakup monopolies.
Getting involved with this is not the proper role of government.
Like hell it isn’t. Eventually there will be two or three companies running everything. It’s no different than socialism.
crony capitalism is not the free market.
Corporate interests are also trying to allow for encryption of the over the air TV signals to make it so inconvenient to get over the air channels to try to force people to pay more to receive them or get cable, etc. so they can get the carriage fees whether people watch the programming or not.

Look, I appreciate your honesty. Sincerely. I entirely disagree with you but this does constitute a legitimate final word on the matter. I know where you stand and you know where I stand and there's no challenge in tinkering around the edges about it.
Not everybody has the courage to be this honest and straight forward outside of these forums. They duck and weave and hide their true feelings/thoughts.
What initially came to my mind was different.
It is true that Benjamin Franklin quiped about giving up liberty; not deserving safety and all of that.
At a different time Benjamin Franklin quipped that we shall all either hang together or we shall hang separately. That’s what came to my mind.
When they send me to the gallows I want to be hung separately - no people around me who have lost faith in the blessings of Liberty. I just want to be around people interested in being free.
Thank you for your understanding. I think embrace of liberty has led to uncontrolled progressivism, hence my position.
