A wannabe social media influencer went viral this week when he handed out 18-inch machetes and booze to homeless people in Austin and New Orleans in a bizarre stunt he insisted was for their benefit.
Keith Castillo — who goes by “povwolfy” — posted a video on Thanksgiving to TikTok and Instagram that garnered more than 14 million views.
“Here, want one of these?” Castillo says as he distributed the potentially deadly weapons.
“Hell yeah, man,” one man responds as he accepts the free blade.
One woman asks for “one more.”
A caption reads, “Keeping the homeless in the streets,” apparently mocking the plight of those without a place to call their own.
The stainless steel Gordon-brand machetes were still wrapped in packaging. Castillo told The Post he purchased them in bulk from online retailer Harbor Freight for less then $5 each.
In another video posted on Nov. 22, Castillo hands out four unwrapped machetes alongside handles of vodka to people on an unidentified Big Easy back road.
In a Nov. 20 post, the influencer distributed seven machetes that he termed “big ass swords” in what he claimed was an effort to keep homeless folks safe. Critics did not react kindly.
“Keeping them safe [no], making them dangerous [yes],” Instagram user “xraydepartment254” commented.
The 29-year-old told The Post he was on a nationwide tour which began in October, and is currently in Little Rock, Ark., where he is once again “handing out alcohol and machetes to the homeless.”
“I have like 30 machetes in my car right now,” he said with a laugh. “Dude, they’re cheap.”

Lock this idiot up. Innocent people’s lives are at stake.
I’m sure there are any number of laws going back to the frontier era making such combination of gifts illegal.
Big fat stupid pig of a man. I’d like to introduce him to those two guys who beat the crap out of the New York spitting guy

Shoot, a fella could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff!
Harbor Freight was an online retailer more than a decade ago. Yeah, they still sell online but they have retail stores damn near everywhere now. Just not quite as many as WalMart.
(alongside handles of vodka)
handles of vodka?
I had to look that up
A “handle” is a big ass bottle
He could have given them food
But a potential weapon and booze instead... 😲 WOW 😲

And they’re still available!
Don't worry. Those innocents will be watching the ball games in warmth today. These instruments are intended for wars over sidewalk grates and corners from which to wave at and beg from the innocents.
Massive? 18 inches? What’s wrong with these people?
Lock this idiot up. Innocent people’s lives are at stake.

Hey, the homeless have to carve their turkeys too!

What could possibly go wrong?
I don’t get why this guy has not been locked up?
Most of the Homeless are quick to grab both the vodka and the machete, but there may be a few who see this cynical act for what it is.
This young fellow doesn’t “care” anything at all about the Homeless. All he’s doing is throwing chum to the sharks, in hopes that the chaos which follows will give him several thousand ‘monetized likes’ on his YouTube channel, and he can make more money. That is all this is.
It’s incredible that he is so up front about his low opinion of the Homeless. He sees them as good for nothing but filmed street fights. This is someone who lacks a Soul.
One day he may be similarly Homeless. It can happen to just about any of us, and in short order.

Hotel Rwanda. I do believe those machetes the Chicoms sold to the Hutus were 6 cents apiece-true?
I didn’t know about that.
Everybody knows, the Hutus don’t even need a well mad excuse to stop, chop and drop someone from the Tutsi tribes.
Any old reason will do.
Wonder who owns Keith Castillo he’s not working alone.
