We're all wondering which is the GOP governor state that is included, as 21 of 22 are led by Dem governors. Looks like the GOP governor is Nevada. I had to chop up the excerpt to make it fit, sorry!

I can't find the list of banned sites, so if this is a no-no, please delete.

prohibiting refugees and asylees with permanent legal status from accessing food benefits

Maybe they should have a sponsor, other than government.

Note do you see any effort to solve this without government.

We have a local org sponsored and paid by a lot of churches because the church doesn’t want to be involved. I call it the FREE STUFF FACTORY.

The taxpayers need to bring a class action lawsuit against these shyster lawyers who want money taken from AMERICANS to feed a bunch of worthless foreign freeloaders. Send the parasites home and let their own governments and taxpayers feed them. They aren’t OUR PROBLEM.

asylees

Yes, "asylee" is a word. It refers to a person who is seeking asylum or has been granted asylum, often due to fear of persecution in their home country. Merriam Webster +1

Never heard that word before, and apparently it's in the Webster dictionary.

Persons with foreign citizenship should not receive SNAP benefits.

Congress needs to get its act together.

SNAP benefits need to be capped at about $90/month/person.

SNAP benefits should be limited to WIC foods plus minimally processed pork, chicken and turkey.

Shows that the guidance needs to be codified. End the fillibuster and do it.

(Sec. 10108) This section eliminates SNAP eligibility for certain individuals who are classified as an alien under federal law and legally present in the United States, including those who have qualified for conditional entry under the asylum and refugee laws or based on urgent humanitarian reasons (e.g., a survivor of domestic violence or human trafficking).

The section maintains SNAP eligibility for individuals who reside in the United States and are (1) U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals; (2) lawful permanent residents, with exceptions; (3) aliens who are Cuban or Haitian entrants; or (4) individuals who are lawfully residing in the United States in accordance with the Compacts of Free Association between the United States and Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, and Palau.

Alejandro “Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society” Mayorkas markedly changed the public charge rules in order to give illegals welfare.

As for the Governor of Nevada, many of his donors are casinos which heavily rely upon “immigrants” in order to maximize their profits.

The first time I heard it was when AOC got spanked by Homan on live TV.

If they are a true ‘asylee’ they would have stopped at the first safe country - instead, they come to where the greatest benefits are.

The NV ‘AG’ is an uber liberal POS. The NV senate and assembly are nearly super majority libodopes. The “AG” will be running for gov in ‘26. The last demo gov (sisolak) was a real loser. But, Vegas and Reno........

I know some of you will object to this. All fence is the goal. They are all guilty and need to be deported. And there is an argument for that. That is justice.

Managing for what you don’t want never leads you anywhere except to more things you don’t want (French revolution) Clear goals on the other hand give direction(our Founding Fathers had clear goals). All evidence I see is that Trump has clear goals and works mightily toward them. MAGA. There are many paths to the goal, but never forget the goal.

This SNAP thing is not the goal, it is part of the way to the goal.

So, what is the goal, what is MAGA?

Even God built a pretty heavy duty fence east of Eden (try to get thru a bunch of angels). But note there was a gate, it was not all fence. The purpose of the gate was to guard the way TO (not from) the Tree of Life. I will let the reader reflect on who that gate is. So what is God’s goal in the fence and the gate? There must be justice but there is also mercy. Mercy is a gift, you cannot demand it. Mercy also has a cost, it is not free.

So back to the article, In my opinion, the goal is good citizens. Immigration does not go away, it is part of our heritage. How do we get the good citizens?

The far more important question is why the HELL are “tens of thousands of legal permanent residents” getting SNAP In the first place? They should get ZERO benefits from our government.

I doubt other countries give “permanent residents” any public assistance.

Why would somebody move here as a “permanent resident” and go on the dole? Why would we even want these leeches?

How do we get the good citizens?

Vetting. Every so called immigrant who sneaks across the border or falsely uses the asylum angle is stealing a chance to be here from those waiting patiently in line. Illegals should be kicked out with no chance to return or a bare minimum of 10 years wait so the good people waiting have a chance to be here.

We need to know that those entering the country are here for the right reasons and not to shoot up our military stationed in DC.
