Russia will deliberately make a demand that’s unacceptable to Ukraine so that the war can continue. They need the war.

That's true, Putin and the leadership DO need the war, now, and have already have made such demands.

If Z-man caves, the Rada will remove him (if he's still alive) and we are back to square one. Except that India and China HAVE now substantially reduced their imports of Russian crude oil, and floating storage is filling up due to the global oil glut. Plus, Iran faces a terrible water crisis, and I can imagine a situation where they are allowed to barter oil for water. This could get interesting. There has never been a situation quite like this in the oil markets.

Does anybody know who wiretapped the phone call between Whitkoff and Ushakov?

Trump’s main filter is to end the pointless death and destruction which is only enriching a few elites on both sides, while thousands of ordinary Ivans are killed or maimed and basically for no better reason than the power and money needs of a few psychopaths.

The world has of course always been like this, with skilled “communicators” employed to sell the idea of suicide to the ordinary Joes and Ivans whose lives don’t matter and whose deaths don’t matter either in those circles.

Pathetic, and Trump is a decent man who cannot wrap his mind around the need for it. Dick Cheney might have been able to explain it but he’s gone to his final reward.

Trump knows Putin will try to play him and get a sweet deal, but really there is no end to this without a compromise nobody in NATO really wants to see, but it was basically a foregone conclusion when NATO decided not to intervene directly. Ukraine has done as well as anyone could have expected holding the Russian advance to small gains here and there, but they are not in a strong position diplomatically now and if they are smart they will cut their losses and try to reorganize. I hate to see it, but there were ways to avoid this war that were ignored by NATO in the first year of Biden’s term in particular, they are partly to blame for this human disaster.

There will be justice for all concerned one day but it won’t come in any human courtrooms, I suppose. There is one adversary none of these people can avoid in the long term.

3-4 months ago the Ukes could have gotten a better deal. Now the more the Russians advance the worse the terms. That’s the way war goes. The more they wait the worse its going to get.

And one more time.

No magnets. No weapons. If you can’t build weapons for about 10 years when domestic sources arrive, can you risk squandering them in Ukraine when you may need them in Taiwan, or defending the actual mainland from overt invasion?

Further, if you were China and were playing hardball, and you know you have a 10 year window, would you not risk that overt invasion?

China may be quietly deciding Ukraine and is why the current plan, within which the Russians did not demand a pro Russia government in Kiev, is not only the best you can get, it is DESPERATELY the best you can get. Yes, because those drone quad rotors? Right. Electric motors. They require neodymium magnets.

“Whitkoff and Ushakov”

NSA intercepts all calls that connect internationally.

As does Russia.

If the FBI gets one of those secret warrants, they can too.

So, the real question is who leaked it?

Russia has plenty of rare earths.

I don’t know about the refining capacity, but I’d guess there’s some.

No need. China’s export restrictions need not apply to them.

A US detente with Russia would likely give us an alternate source as we ramp up our own production.

That’s a very big deal.

This concept faces the same problem that looms in an oil scarcity future.

After years of calling us names and moving NATO’s borders closer to threaten us, why would we want to help you with your neodymium magnet scarcity problem? Your society is destined for decline without these magnets. Why should we save you?

And btw, saving you in such a way to anger our oil customer China, whose decision it was to cut you off.

They’d do it for the money...not just rare earths but all sorts of commodities.

The opportunities are immense for both parties.

The Euro’s have spent considerably more to support Ukraine than has the USA.

Why do you post such laughable drivel?

*******************

Lol

Because European spending doesn’t equal military power.

European military might is a “laughable drivel.”
