In Cypress, Texas, a Houston-area suburb that lures families with its high-quality education, Republicans used their two years of control on the school board to ban textbook chapters on climate change, diversity and vaccines. This month, Democrats took over the majority, picking up three seats on the school board and ending the conservative reign.

Parents were also motivated to take up fights over the teachings of “critical race theory,” inclusion of trans students in school sports and empowering students to pick their preferred pronouns. Many of the book bans were based on eliminating from school libraries sexual content that opponents deemed inappropriate for children.

My local school district is going into financial bankruptcy. 17% of the students are performing at grade level in math 27% in language arts. But they just had the LGBTQ+ Saturday at the local high school. They had a glitter celebration complete with a drag queen for the kindergarten through fifth graders. Now they are funding an ethnic studies program. Enrollment is plummeting.

Republicans don’t have Soros money to fund local elections.

“The party recruited and invested.” Is a sentence about school board races that will never be said about the GOP. And that’s why we lose so many battles in the culture war.

Winners fatigue people go to sleep right after an election win from 2024.

Its a serious problem for Republicans but parties in general.

And that’s why we’re losing this country. School boards are full of commies determined to indoctrinate as many children as possible.

Someone once said, “All politics is local”. That’s truer now then ever before...

Yep. Trump needs to nationalize the midterms. Republicans need him to turn out the vote. What they plan to do after him is beyond me.

Their plan is always the children. R’s have no long-term goals.

Whomever controls the school boards, controls the children, their futures and the country.

The Democrats there just improved Republican turnout for the mid-terms.

It never ceases to amaze me when people fail to vote.

Republicans aren't generally dependent upon their elected officials for welfare so they don't see the true incentive to vote, unlike direct payment recipients on the Left.

"State district courts may remove a school board member for incompetency, official misconduct or intoxication after a resident files a petition for removal and a judge holds a trial by jury."
Most Democrats are potheads. 3 Democrats in a room? Straight up 2 are not just users but stoners.

Marijuana is illegal to possess or consume in Texas, and consumption can be cited as "intoxication". Problem solved. You're welcome.

That statement is generally attributed to the late speaker of the House tip O’Neill

Another way to put that is that most leftists know they are useless in a real economy. They need government to survive economically.

Republicans don’t have Soros money to fund local elections.

That is often the crux of the problem. How does one side that promotes individual thought, takes personal responsibility, wants dispersed power, distrusts collection of power, prefers privacy, etc... - deal with an ideology that in all ways promotes collectivism, forced compliance, trusts government power, accepts massive debt, etc...?

Too bad they don’t see their freedoms being maintained as the reason to get off their a$$ and vote. Easier than the potential of having to use the 2nd Amendment to do so, and a lot less deadly. So be it.
