The president’s decision to negate Somali’s Temporary Protective Status comes as the Manhattan Institute, a conservative think tank, alleged that millions of dollars were being funneled to the Somali terror group Al-Shabaab in connection with the Feeding Our Future scam.
The Minneapolis Somali community has been involved in several significant fraud schemes, most notably the multi-million dollar “Feeding Our Future” federal child nutrition program fraud, and other unrelated cases involving Medicaid fraud and immigration fraud.
Somali Feeding Our Future Fraud Scheme
This is the largest fraud scheme in Minnesota history, centered on the Somali nonprofit “Feeding Our Future” and related Somali entities. Participants exploited a federally funded program, intended to provide free meals to children during the COVID-19 pandemic, by Somalis submitting fraudulent claims for millions of meals that were never served.
Key aspects of the scheme:
More than $250 million was fraudulently obtained and laundered. Somali individuals and companies created shell companies and fake meal sites, submitted false meal count sheets and attendance rosters, and offered kickbacks to Somali families to use their children’s information for enrollment.
Somali money Laundering: Stolen funds were used to purchase luxury vehicles, commercial and residential real estate for Somalis in Minnesota and Somalis abroad (Kenya, Turkey, Ohio, Kentucky), and to fund Somali international travel.
Over 70 individuals have been charged, with many pleading guilty or being convicted at trial. The case also involved an alleged attempt to bribe a juror.
Other Noteworthy Somali Frauds
Medicaid/Autism Services Fraud: Several Somali individuals, including clinic owners and employees, have been charged in separate large-scale Medicaid fraud cases. Schemes involved Somalis billing for services not provided (such as “standing around and drinking tea”), using unqualified staff, and paying kickbacks to clients to maintain enrollment.
One case involved Somali claims related to an autism program where nearly $14 million in fraudulent Somali claims were submitted.
Housing Stabilization Services Fraud: Somali defendants have been charged with exploiting the state’s Housing Stabilization Services (HSS) program, a Medicaid benefit, by creating fraudulent Somali claims for services that were not rendered.
Immigration Fraud: Federal authorities have conducted operations targeting Somali immigration fraud, uncovering instances of Somali marriage fraud, the use of fake Somali death certificates, and forged documents within the Somali community.
Voter Fraud: A former Somali campaign volunteer for a state senator was convicted of lying to a federal grand jury regarding his involvement in illegally delivering Somali absentee ballots without the voters’ consent during a primary election.
Federal authorities emphasize their commitment to pursuing those who exploit government programs for personal profit.

One also wonders how much day to day welfare fraud like claiming extra chillins, nonexistent disabilities, etc. goes on there at the individual level. I wonder also what percentage of imported Somalis receive some sort of taxpayer funded government loot.
It seems odd to single out just those in MN. From a federal perspective what distinction is there for Somalis in MN vs Somalis in Maine vs Somalis in any other state?

When I worked in MN in the 80s, there was a large Hmong populuation, mostly in the Cities, fleeing from repression in southeast Asia after the VietNam war. The ones I knew were reserved, hard-working, and while they stuck to their clan they made an effort to assimilate and adopted the US culture.
I suspect this paved the way for the Somalis who did none of the above and who abused our country and it’s hospitality.
Lesson learned. It’s past time for them to go.
Even for those of us accustomed to consider these international migration programs as rife with corruption, this one is amazing by its scale. To be brief, U.S. taxpayer money intended for food and medicine for children is being redirected to a terrorist organization by an entire community of grifters, highly organized and utterly shameless. Of course they deserve to be deported, but the real enemies are the people behind their migration and their legal and media defenders.
This brings up the question of why 3rd world sh!tholes are 3rd world sh!tholes. It isn’t the climate Haiti and the Dominican Republic share an island. Haiti is absolutely a SH. The DR is not. It isn’t resources. Rhodesia which was a civilized modern country had the same resources as Zimbabwe which is definitely a SH. It’s the people who live there and their culture. You don’t have to be a genius to figure that out, since the Turd (my pet name for #44) is many things, but dumb isn’t one of them, you can only conclude he WANTED to turn America into a third world sh!thole as part of his fundamental transformation of the country. Individual freedom (except the steal) is low on the list of priorities of SH people. It’s also somewhere at the top of the list of things Democrats want to get rid of. The Democrats want to void the entire Bill of Rights, and importing thieving scum whose primary goal is to rob steal and cheat the taxpayers is one way of doing it.
I have to add that I had an Uber driver whose father was Somali last year. Lovely young man who had dropped out of the poli sci program and switched to a nursing program because the poli sci program was too left-wing. His dad was a retired detective from San Diego PD. Not all Somalis are awful people, but no doubt when they grow up in a corrupt community they will also be corrupt.

I believe it is because they are concentrated in one area. It was a sort of done as a form of immigration gerrymandering to ensure they were not going to assimilate American culture. The Democrats DO NOT WANT AMERICAN CULTURE TO SURVIVE. They hate freedom (for the little people). They despise the Bill of Rights because it places limitations on government. They hate the 2nd Amendment with a rabid fanaticism that would impress a Muslim suicide bomber because the 2nd gives teeth to the rest.
While I would be willing to bet at least a dollar that about half or more of the inhabitants of Somalia West engage in some sort of welfare fraud, I’m fairly certain by the laws of probability there are at least some that don’t. It’s a law enforcement problem. You send the military when something absolutely positively has to be destroyed overnight. Wrong skill set for the problem tempting as it might be.
