New Jersey man whose sentence was commuted by Trump imprisoned for third fraud conviction

A New Jersey man whose sentence was commuted by President Trump during the tail-end of his first term was imprisoned again on Friday for his third fraud conviction.

Eliyahu “Eli” Weinstein, a 51-year-old man who has also used the alias Mike Konig, was handed down a 37-year sentence in Trenton, NJ on Friday.

Prosecutors estimated he milked approximately $35 million from the woefully misguided investors, who Weinstein promised access to deals involving dwindling medical supplies, baby formula and first-aid kits intended to be sent to Ukraine, according to his most recent indictment.

The con artist’s prior two convictions, for which he was originally set to serve 24 years in prison, were commuted by Trump on Jan. 19, 2021 — his last day before leaving office during his first term.

Trump ordered that Weinstein be released on the measly eight years he’d served plus three years of supervised release, according to his indictment.

Prosecutors said that Weinstein leapt back into his old schemes soon after his release.

Weinstein wasn’t shy about his nefarious habits and plainly told his conspirators that he “finagled, and Ponzied, and lied to people to cover us,” according to court documents.

Weinstein’s first two convictions involved a real estate Ponzi scheme and another plot he committed while on pretrial release.

Trump also doled out 143 pardons during his final hours as president.

Lock him up in the Epstein cell.

Imagine getting sentence commuted, and then going out and doing the same thing again. Ingrate and made Trump look bad. I bet he doesn’t get a new commutation...shouldn’t even ask.

I am glad it was a commutation and not a pardon.
Bad call. Stupid criminal.

Another Darwin candidate. Lock him up and throw away the key. He can’t learn from his past mistakes. To do the same thing repeatedly expecting different results is insanity. He’s an idiot. Idiots need to be locked up for their own good.

This'll fix 'the problem':

Find a tall tree
and 'decorate' it...

Some cork soaker gets a pardon and returns to his life of crime and it’s front page news. The libs release some jogger from jail 30 times and he murders a white woman on a train and they don’t want to even mention it.

Apparently it was Alan Dershowitz (as a paid attorney) who secured this pardon.

That’s what lawyers are paid to do!

LOL !

This shyster's scams are always the "Current Thing".

The first one was real estate during the housing bubble

The second was covid medical supplies.

And the most recent was supplies and contracts for ukraine.

Sure. But Dersh should know better than to ask POTUS to pardon a shyster. He is supposed to be a trusted friend of Trump’s, and I think he abused that trust. A pardon like this would normally never get anywhere near the Resolute Desk.

Agree in principle!
However a lawyer does all he can to get his client off. It’s his job. That’s why I’m not a lawyer.
