Grok is incredible. He’s winning.

No lack of energy or money to buy same in KSA. Maybe this will stop some of the sniveling about how evil AI is.

How are they going to get needed water for the data centers. It is enough of an isue here in AZ.

Grok:
Saudi Arabia can support massive AI data centers without unsustainable water strain by leveraging its desalination dominance, cheap/renewable energy for advanced cooling, and explicit focus on water-efficient (often water-free) designs in its AI infrastructure push.

I didn’t know they were doing so well in desalination. I wonder why they import asparagus from AZ? Yes, there are water free ways to cool a large data center, but they aren’t cheap, and it doesn’t help to be in a hot climate to start. Polievre of the Canadian conservatives pushes Canada for data centers because of a natural cold temp AND fresh water.

Grok:

Saudi Arabia overwhelmingly dominates the global desalination industry as of late 2025.
Key Reasons and Metrics
Largest installed capacity — Saudi Arabia produces approximately 20–25% of the world’s desalinated water, with a total operational capacity exceeding 7–8 million cubic meters per day (aiming for 8.5 million m³/day by end-2025). This far surpasses any other nation.

That’s 2 billion gallons a day. Impressive. The data center would be happy with 5 million, so they can swing it, as long as they stay near the coasts.
