How Trump could still keep Epstein files secret, despite House and Senate votes

President's call to investigate Democrats' links to Epstein opens loophole to withhold material

Despite overwhelming votes in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate to pass a bill forcing the release of files about Jeffrey Epstein, some lawmakers believe President Donald Trump could still skirt the bill's intent and avoid disclosing material about the late sex trafficker's activities.

Their concern is the Department of Justice (DOJ) may withhold key documents related to its investigations into Epstein's sexual abuse of underage girls through a legal loophole that Trump opened last Friday.

The president ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to open an investigation into Epstein's connections to three prominent Democrats: former president Bill Clinton, former treasury secretary Larry Summers and the billionaire founder of LinkedIn, Reid Hoffman.

The text of the the Epstein Files Transparency Act passed Tuesday by Congress allows the DOJ to withhold or redact any records that "would jeopardize an active federal investigation or ongoing prosecution."

Republican Thomas Massie, who co-sponsored the bill in the House, said he's concerned about Trump's move to open what he called "a flurry of investigations" after months of the White House downplaying the Epstein case.

"I believe they may be trying to use those investigations as a predicate for not releasing the files. That’s my concern,” Massie told reporters outside the Capitol on Monday evening...

This stuff is hilarious... Even more hilarious... The left wing media's sudden obsession with the Epstein files. But if you mention Bill Clinton... They start squirming.

I wonder why?

Any president could have released the files. But now it’s Trump holding them hostage?

My guess is that either the CIA or an allied intelligence agency facilitated Epstein while fully aware he was brutalizing young girls. Why? The intelligence value for the assets he compromised. Whoever releases that pile of political turds will be covered with it. Also, the damage to our intel or Israel’s will cause fatal long-term consequences. BTW, honey traps were and still are a huge part of the intelligence game. The Epstein operation just industrialized it.

Outright lies and propaganda from CBS, Massie and democrats.

Note the catch 22 they are trying to set up. Release the Epstein files but if you investigate any implicated democrats Trump is corrupt and hiding something.

Shameless liars, utter filth.

This "report" is one of many that will be published to make it appear as if Trump is withholding damaging information about his relationship with Epstein.

We know there is nothing in the Epstein files connecting Trump to the sordid Epstein empire, but no matter what spills after the file dump, the Dems and their asswipe media goons will keep pounding the "Trump & Epstein drum", while ignoring any and all revelations about improper contact between important Democrats and Epstein.

The battle lines will remain drawn where they are now, with nearly half the country believing Trump is a Hitler-like pedophile. We really have a big problem in this country and it's getting worse every day.

Republicans need to stop venting over nonsense from MTG, Tucker, Massie etc., and start telling the voters how to fix America.

DNC holds onto decades-old Jeffrey Epstein donations after other Dems returned theirs
DNC Chairman Ken Martin accused president of covering up for ‘notorious sexual predator’

The Democratic National Committee’s donations from the late financier Jeffrey Epstein have come under renewed scrutiny as Epstein’s sex-trafficking case files continue to roil the Trump administration. The DNC’s donations from Epstein in the mid-1990s, totaling $32,000, were never returned by the committee, while several other Democratic lawmakers and entities have since donated or returned theirs.

The donations, visible in public campaign finance records, are back in the spotlight as the DNC relentlessly taunts the administration over Epstein by creating a social media account dedicated to raising awareness about his nonpublic case files and circulating a mobile billboard about it by the White House. DNC Chairman Ken Martin recently accused President Donald Trump, who was once friends with Epstein prior to Epstein facing charges, of covering up for a “notorious sexual predator.”

‘SEPARATED FROM REALITY’: SENATE REPUBLICANS FUME AS DEMS USE EPSTEIN SAGA TO BLOCK TRUMP’S AGENDA)

Asked for comment on never returning Epstein’s donations, a DNC spokesperson brushed off the funds in a statement to Fox News Digital. “Instead of trying to blow the cobwebs off of decades-old contributions and defunct campaign accounts, Donald Trump should release the Epstein files,” the spokesperson said.

Scrutiny over donations and any conflicts they present is common in political campaigning. The RNC faced calls to return what Business Insider found to be $1.4 million from its former finance chair Steve Wynn, a casino mogul who stepped down from his role with the committee and with Wynn Resorts after facing numerous allegations of sexual misconduct and settling lawsuits over them.

The DNC also accepted more than $90,000 from the private hedge fund of billionaire Glenn Dubin, who has close ties to Epstein. At least two top Republicans, Sen. David McCormick, R-Pa., and Vivek Ramaswamy, also accepted donations from Dubin. Epstein invested millions in a hedge fund managed by Dubin. One of Epstein’s most vocal accusers, the late Virginia Giuffre, testified in 2015 that associate Ghislaine Maxwell forced her to have sexual relations with Dubin. Dubin was never criminally charged.

Epstein first pleaded guilty in 2008 to state charges of soliciting a minor for prostitution before facing federal charges in 2019 of trafficking and abusing underage women. Epstein died in what authorities said was suicide while in jail awaiting trial.

‘LOUDER BY THE HOUR’: SENATE GOP WANTS THE EPSTEIN DRAMA TO END, BUT DEMOCRATS AREN’T LETTING IT GO

Epstein used his enormous wealth to donate to several Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. When Epstein’s charges were announced in 2019, donation recipients faced pressure to disassociate from the funds.

Schumer, who received thousands from Epstein in the 1990s, vowed in 2019 to offset the funds by making a donation in their amount to anti-trafficking and women’s advocacy groups. Similarly, Rep. Stacey Plaskett, D-V.I., revealed she would disavow Epstein’s donations by giving to The Women’s Coalition and The Family Resource Center after facing criticism for initially choosing to hold onto the money.

The DCCC received a $10,000 check from Epstein in 2018 but said the money was unsolicited and immediately refunded. The late Don Fowler, former DNC chairman, said in a statement after Epstein was charged, that his committee’s donations were too old to address, according to CNBC. “Go back and give money that he gave 20 years ago? Are you nuts?” Fowler said.

FR Report: House Democrat Hakeem Jeffries Solicited
Democrat Donations from Jeffrey Epstein, Asked Him to Meet with Democrat Obama

abcnews.com excerpt By Soo Rin Kim July 12, 2019, 12:49 PM

Jeffrey Epstein donated to several Democrats throughout 1990s and early 2000s
The decades-old donations raise questions about handling matters years later.

Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier charged with sex trafficking, has been a prolific donor to various Democratic campaigns and party committees over the past couple decades, including contributions to some who are now calling for the resignation of a Trump cabinet member who cut a deal for Epstein in a similar case more than a decade earlier.

One of the biggest beneficiaries of Epstein’s contributions was then-Senate hopeful Hillary Clinton, who received $20,000 from him in 1999 through her joint fundraising committee with the Democratic Party, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign also received $1,000 from Epstein in 1992. The Clintons were among Epstein’s vast network of high-profile rich and famous people who helped the former Wall Street insider turned private wealth manager rise to prominence in the early 2000’s. John Kerry, Hillary Clinton’s successor as former President Barack Obama’s secretary of state, also was a recipient of Epstein’s donations during his time as a U.S. senator in Massachusetts in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Bill Clinton, through his press secretary, released a statement when Epstein’s indictment was unsealed on Monday, saying the former president “knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has recently [been] charged in New York.” ABC News has reached out to representatives for Bill Clinton specifically about the donation, but they did not immediately respond.

If Epstein is a CIA Asset or the asset of some other intelligence agency, I don’t think that should hold up the release of the information.

Look at what Epstein was accused of trafficking children for the purpose of sexually abusing them by himself and other rich and powerful people.

I think the information when/if released will show what rich and powerful people were abusing the children not necessarily what intelligence agency was involved, that is what people involved with are afraid of, not if the CIA or the Mossad was behind everything.

Personally, I could care less if the CIA or the Mossad was involved, you can’t setup someone to abuse children unless they want to be setup, think about it, if you just wanted to party with a bunch of hot women on a Caribbean island, when you flew down there with Epstein and saw that all the women were actually children you would do what you had to do to leave and not immediately start abusing children.

The men that flew down to that Island knew full well it was children they would be abusing, and they did it anyway, that’s what needs to be exposed not if some intelligence agency was involved.

This is the ONLY issue. Freepers blabbing on about other stuff: why not Biden?; They are trying to trap Trump/No evidence against Trump; What about Clinton?; Old news; or other nonsense that Freepers are complaining about is a bunch of balderdash... Get it ALL out - CIA, FBI, Justice, Mossad, MI5...whomever. If it was Epstein’s private perverted enterprise and not a honeytrap, fine... Whatever it takes. Get it all out.

The article is right and opens up many questions. From the inside of all this, Trump’s push back on releasing files proved he is the one in control of the documents. He had the leverage to try and flip people in the files. Are these 3 cooperating in exchange for a deal? The grand conspiracy will need prominent, respected democrats on the inside to admit and confirm the grand conspiracy. These are the people who will help prevent a civil war as the grand conspiracy is laid out and prosecuted. You can feel the Trump trap of “he’s weaponizing the government” being set. How is that diffused? Criminal dems confirming the crimes and admitting they were involved.
