Agreed.
Or Europe, Australia and New Zealand for that matter.
Ronaldo is at the WH. He now plays in a Saudi league
Good idea, Mr. President. Let blue Seattle stew in their own juices. There are red cities would enjoy hosting this event and the revenue resulting.
Ruling body for the world's biggest sporting event
I must admit, I am excited to see Scotland has qualified. They have the best fans, hands down.
For a lot of years Seattle hasn’t been the sight for a lot of major sports independent games. A perfect example is the Super Bowl. Seattle has not hosted a Super Bowl because the city lacks the necessary infrastructure, including sufficient hotel rooms and convention space, required by the NFL to host the event’s numerous related activities. As for FIFA, Seattle was originally considered a host city, but its bid was dropped due to disagreements over financial details with FIFA.
They also have a horrible road system in western Washington with I-5 being the only major road from northern Oregon to Seattle. And the Seattle’s only road coming in from the east is I-90 which is a serious snow/ice problem in late January early February as heavy snowfall can lead to closures due to poor visibility and high avalanche risk. I-5 can’t handle the traffic for events very well now, let alone a mass entry from the south. Additionally Seattle’s Stadium is an open air with a roof to stop falling snow or rain of 70% of the seating. There will be snow at that time of year and there are only 68,740 seats in the stadium besides the 82 luxury suites, and boxes. And that was a major problem with a FIFA game. And for those considering the Tacoma dome, they seat less than 20K for soccer.
So there are other reasons beside politics that are a problem with Seattle hosting a major event.

Good acronym.
Every county in Oklahoma has voted Republican in every Presidential election since 2004. Oklahoma City would be a possibility. Not sure how popular soccer is there though.

Just looked up “I’ve Been Everywhere” in Wikipedia - never knew it was originally of Australian origin.
There’s a Texan version, too - grew up in the third town mentioned, woohoo!
Message to Pres. Trump...
When your enemy is destroying himself, get out of the way.
Let this event go on, let the defunded, non-existent police take charge of security, let the Communists fail, who cares?
