The House on Wednesday passed a funding bill that will end the government shutdown, the longest in U.S. history, by a margin of 222-209.

President Donald Trump is scheduled to sign the bill later Wednesday.

The legislation will fund the government through Jan. 30 and provide funding for some government agencies for the remainder of the fiscal year.

In Wednesday’s vote, several more Democrats voted with Republicans to fund the government than in the last vote nearly two months ago, when Rep. Jared Golden of Maine was the only supporter. This time, six Democrats backed the bill, including Golden as well as Henry Cuellar of Texas, Adam Gray of California, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington, Tom Suozzi of New York and Don Davis of North Carolina.

On the GOP side, Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Greg Steube of Florida bucked their party and voted no.

Trump is scheduled to sign the bill live. His team should absolutely play a video montage of all the democrats calling the shutdown their leverage, also the angry House dems who are spitting mad and saying democrats stopped their efforts to keep the government closed. Too many voters blamed Trump, who never before received the CR.

Why would anyone vote no?

1) Socialism
2) Pelosi said to
3) The stupid add-on of the $500,000-per gift to eight Senate Republicans--they may well deserve it the way they were jerked around by DOJ, but don't stick it in this bill and make the clean CR dirty.

But it's best that we voted for it.

What? This tug of war circus may be coming back as early as Jan 30th? I sure hope not.
Meanwhile, the airport situation also must be resolved asap!

“Greg Steube of Florida”

He’s my Congressman.

I saw nothing on his website or in my e-mail in the way of explanation.

What those senators did was not public service. The people involved should be prosecuted and sued, but taxpayers shouldn't be paying for it because these senators are mad. It would be very bad politics for them to sue using this law, and the courts may be hostile to them, and rightfully so.

Well, now the SNAPPERS got something else to worry about. Obammiecare. They might have to start doing their own medical procedures. At least that one tonner who was on the news telling us to eat white people won’t be out there hunting down white people to eat.

SEC. 111. (a) For entitlements and other mandatory payments whose budget authority was provided in an appropriations Act specified in section 101, and for activities under the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008, activities shall be continued at the rate to maintain program levels under current law, under the authority and conditions provided in the applicable appropriations Act, to be continued through the date specified in section 106(3) of this Act.
(b) Notwithstanding section 106, obligations for mandatory payments due on or about the first day of any month that begins after October 2025 but not later than 30 days after the date specified in section 106(3) may continue to be made, and funds shall be available for such payments.

SEC. 106. Unless otherwise provided for in this Act or in the applicable appropriations Act for fiscal year 2026, appropriations and funds made available and authority granted pursuant to this Act shall be available until whichever of the following first occurs:
(1) The enactment into law of an appropriation for any project or activity provided for in this Act.
(2) The enactment into law of the applicable appropriations Act for fiscal year 2026 without any provision for such project or activity.
(3) January 30, 2026.

I take it that the last funded SNAP payout is for March 2026.
