Yes; a murdered person isn’t any more murdered if you attach hate to the charge; a robbed person isn’t any more robbed.
Myth: “Hate speech” is illegal in the United States.
As I recall the first person arrested for hate speech in NYC was a black woman who called a sales clerk some name or other.
I can pull the fire alarm IF there IS a fire. Or just yell and point.
I liked the last myth. So while suspending Kimmel could be argued to be censorship, it does NOT fall under the first amendment, which so many liberals think.
Yes, and I sometimes get confused looks when I say we must allow holocaust deniers their rights too. Sadly many countries have it on their books as a hate crime.
“There are only two sexes.”
My point is that you can do either of those things even if there is no fire. They are both illegal, not because the government can prohibit you from saying or doing those things, but because you are putting people in danger. IOW, the government cannot engage in prior restraint against you doing these things. You have the freedom to do illegal things, but you just need to be willing to deal with the consequences of doing those things.
I understand. I was just pointing out it’s not a crime if there is a fire.
Regards.
Perhaps another way of putting it is as follows: in the context of the first amendment, prior restraint would mean cutting out your tongue so that you could not possibly yell “fire!“ In a crowded theater when, in fact, there was no fire. That is exactly what the federal government and many state governments have done with regard to the second amendment, by denying their citizens the right to own certain firearms because we “might“ commit crimes with them. Prior restraint should be as illegal for any basic constitutionally guaranteed right as it is for any other such right.
All crime is hate. crime. You hate that person, so you kill them. You hate they have something you don’t, so you steal from them. Etc.
I cannot think of what a “love” crime would be.
.
‘...who would decide what a hate crime is?’
That’s my problem with the whole idea of ‘hate’ crimes.
= = =
I hate it when you bring that up.
Hate = Disagreeing with a liberal
