The Schumer Shutdown has been going on for more than a month now.
It started on October 1, and the Senate won't even be able to have another vote on it until Tuesday at the earliest.
The extended shutdown is raising concerns, particularly about funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and how it may be impacting air travel.

Fox News Channel's Maria Bartiromo asked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Sunday if he thought the government would open this week, as the shutdown was "seriously impacting the U.S. economy." Cruz had an intelligent take on when it might be over, and why.

The Democrats will wait until after Election Day because they think a shutdown is good for energizing the crazies in their party. But I think it will either be late this week or early next week."
That sounds like a pretty intelligent assessment to me. The whole point of this exercise seems to have been to juice the leftist base, to try to appeal to them that somehow the Democrats were "fighting" for them. If they get people out and they can walk away with wins, even if they were in areas where they were already leading, they can say, "Hey, look, guys, we beat them," and convince the left they've done something. It gives them something of an off-ramp to argue.
They likely think this can help them in Virginia, where there are a lot of federal workers, and then they can all come out to vote. Maybe. But the federal workers and others in Virginia might also realize it's the Democrats who have been behind the shutdown. We saw Republicans had actually gained in approval since the shutdown started. We saw that the largest federal employee union, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), has called for everyone to vote for the clean CR and open the government.
Then they will take credit for saving the country from the evil republicans who forced the shutdown. All the sheep will praise the bastard dems who saved them from starvation and destitution.

Schumer is worried that he'll lose in the primary against AOC in 2028.
So the Republicans will have to use the nuclear option or they'll cave and give the Democrats everything they want.
It’s more of a case that they don’t want a perceived lack of action on their part to turn off their voters.
Big problem is the blame.

Polls are scams, plain and simple. I don't care what any poll says, whether or not it purports to be good news for Republicans, Democrats, or others. I don't need a poll to tell me how and what to think.

I do therefore humbly offer it to publick consideration, that of the 45 DemonKKKrats, already computed, twenty may be reserved for impeachment, whereof only one fourth part to be Marxists; which is more than we allow to sheep, black cattle, or swine, and my reason is, that these Senators are seldom the fruits of good marriage, a circumstance not much regarded by our savages, therefore, one male Senator will be sufficient to serve 800 females. OR they can bring the budget bills for a vote. The CR was to give them space to finish those up. So forget the CR and vote on the budget.
