Bay Area activists brace for fallout even after Trump pivots off SF

Demonstrations unfolded across the Bay Area on Thursday as activists mobilized against President Donald Trump’s threats of a federal immigration “surge.” Although Trump called off the surge in San Francisco after talking to local tech and political leaders, the rest of the Bay Area was left on edge, and many took to the streets to peacefully voice their dissent.

At 5 p.m., about 300 people marched from Oakland’s Fruitvale district toward the intersection of Dennison Street and Embarcadero at Coast Guard Island, where federal agents from Customs and Border Protection were reportedly stationed for an “operation.”

At the intersection, protesters carried hand-painted signs reading, “Which side are you on?” and “Love Thy Neighbor” as dozens of Coast Guard officers and federal agents in riot gear stared them down. Among the demonstrators, bobbing above the crowds was a protester dressed as a green frog, a tongue-in-cheek homage to the Portland Frog, a costumed activist who became a recent symbol of anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement protests in Portland.

Across the bay, nearly 5,000 showed up to rally at San Francisco’s Embarcadero Plaza denouncing the threat of mass immigration raids and the possible deployment of National Guard troops elsewhere in the region, according to organizers with Bay Resistance. The coalition described the demonstration as a response to the “violence threatened” by the federal government.

They’re getting paid to protest, so it doesn’t really matter if there’s anything to protest or not. They’ll show up anyway.

Part of the fallout from this, for me (I don’t really care about the paid protesters) is a perceptible smugness and arrogance I see rising among the very large remnant illegal alien population here. They consider themselves protected and untouchable.

Exactly.

That is how I see it. As Entitled. Screw every last one of them. Deport them all.

That’s one of the most troubling things, isn’t it? They are assaulting our law enforcement officers, they are rioting with impunity. They know nothing much will happen to them other than a small fraction getting deported.

The; Dem machine did this from Biden’s open borders to inviting the world in to PDs not doing their jobs to crooked commie mayors, DAs and judges.

And we can thank the RATS for them having that perception, and the Republicans for not countering it all these years.

Which side are you on?” and “Love Thy Neighbor

I'm sure these were not the most prominent signs.

They can’t let all that signage go unused.

They are upset bc they have nothing to do now.

They even protest when they get their way. What a truly strange group of people the left are. And by “strange” I mean “idiotic.”
