President Donald Trump announced Friday that he is endorsing Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein to challenge Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie.
Trump has repeatedly criticized Massie in recent months, issuing a warning that he and his team would primary the Republican representative. In a lengthy Truth Social post, Trump called Massie a “Third Rate Congressman” and a “Weak and Pathetic RINO,” stating he must be “thrown out of office, ASAP” before announcing his endorsement of Gallrein.
“The incredible people of Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District gave us a mandate to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and the person that will help us do that is Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Fifth Generation Kentucky Farmer, Captain Ed Gallrein, a true America First Patriot,” Trump wrote. “A Brave Combat Veteran, Ed knows the Wisdom and Courage required to Defend our Country, Support our Military/Veterans, and Ensure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH.”
While Gallrein has not officially announced his run against Massie, Trump said he hopes the Navy SEAL enters the race, adding that if he does, he has the president’s “Complete and Total Endorsement.”

this is the guy - but he hasn’t said he’s going to run for this House seat.
If he gets a huge win over the Rino, then Trump’s endorsement will mean a lot in a lot of races.
A President shouldn’t send a SEAL on a suicide mission.

Folks, Declaring that I am a Tommas Massie and Ron Paul guy. Thank God that Trump is President, but in the end, each of us is either a free actor or else a slave to tranny, and freedom may not be an easy path.

What is it about Trump that you’re thankful for? I ask, because you do realize that none of it would have happened if Ron Paul or Tommas Massie had had their way, don’t you? Securing the border, Middle East peace deal, tariffs, Iran denuclearization, pushing back on China, taking the fight to the drug cartels ... libertarians like the Pauls and Massie are opposed to most of that on principle and oppose all of the tactics that made them possible.
And many DON’T
I should also add - negotiating most favored nation deals with drug companies and reshoring critical manufacturing of vital national security industries like aluminum and steel production and pharmaceutical manufacturing. All such government intervention in the economy is anathema to the libertarian ethos.
Too bad Trump can’t get along with congress enough to codify all the changes he is making into law. The next president will undo most of his executive action just like Joe Biden did when he first got into office.
Go Massie. Beat the machine. Trump is wrong on this, like taking on Bob Goode. He is terrible at endorsements and picks the wrong battles. Glad he is president but I’ll call out when wrong.
