A Polish court on Friday blocked the extradition to Germany of a Ukrainian man suspected of involvement in the 2022 attack on the Nord Stream gas pipelines and ordered his release, a ruling that was welcomed by Poland’s prime minister.
Volodymyr Zhuravlov, 46, was arrested near Warsaw Sept. 30 on a German warrant. German prosecutors have described him as a trained diver and allege that he was part of a group that placed explosives on the pipelines near the Danish island of Bornholm three years ago.
The Warsaw District Court rejected his extradition on Friday and ordered his immediate release.
The man’s lawyer, Tymoteusz Paprocki, said ahead of the hearing that “my client doesn’t admit guilt, he didn’t commit any crime against Germany and he doesn’t understand why these charges were made by the German side.” He said he also would argue that no Ukrainian should be charged with any action directed against Russia.

Attack a country, expect retaliation.
I tended to think it was a Biden operation. He made a pretty direct threat.
The idea it was done by Ukrainians is pretty interesting.
It was payback-get it? Russia invaded in ‘39. Payback-that’s good.
Payback-get it? Germany invaded in ‘39. Payback-that’s good.
Killed 2 birds with one stone and to think I thought Polaks were stupid.
Might as well free them, since they weren’t the ones who did it.
Ukraine charged Germany full price for the stolen gas, because Germany needed the gas and had to pay.
Russia decided to build two natural gas pipelines around Ukraine directly to Germany, and the Germans saw the advantage so they agreed.
Germany would get gas at a better price AND cut Ukraine's markup out of the price.
Then Germany could take the markup themselves and supply gas to surrounding nations.
Ukraine couldn't allow that.
U guys don’t get it. They did it for Trump.
Interestingly, Ukraine was stealing Russian natural gas, early on.
I am not contending it did or did not happen.
Both Ukraine and Russia are notorious for their corruption.
From people I know who have connections to Ukraine, Ukraine has been slightly less corrupt.
I am not sure it is much of a difference.
Sounds about right to me. The western media did as they were told and tried to blame Russia for blowing up their own pipeline
Possibly the CIA intervened to block his extradition. They wouldn't want this guy to talk.
Biden promised he’d do it.
Might as well free them, since they weren’t the ones who did it.

I found the Polish judge’s remark interesting. It was as if he acknowledged the Ukrainian did it but the judge excused the action because it was committed in the time of war.
What idiot thinks a Ukrainian diver blew it up. There are only a few countries in the world with the technical capability to do it and a Ukrainian diver is not on the short list.
Ukraine's theft of gas payments and manipulation of destinations started making news in March of 2005.
Because of the complexities of the natural gas commodity market and the advance purchases and contracts, the cause of the disputes was effective for all of 2004 and later years.
Wikipedia has a lot of info here (Keep in mind Wiki Leftist Bias):
This War was a Long Time Developing.
No trading places either.
Yes, he did!
Biden ‘took credit’ for it at the time.
He’s a serial liar but I think it was an American operation.
Poland is the only country avoiding Muslim invasion and, as a result, hasn’t had any mass attacks. Beautiful women as well. If you’re a single guy, it’s the country to visit.
True, however, Poland is illegally avoiding Muslim invasion, they agreed with the the EU to take a specific number of Muslim "immigrants" as did the other EU nations.
Poland reneged and uses lethal force at their eastern border against "refugees" that were promised entry by the EU.
“Interestingly, Ukraine was stealing Russian natural gas, early on.”
Exactly, I remember the stories from pretty much when the Wall came down - well before 2022, or even 2014. In fact, the driving point behind the (expensive) undersea pipeline to Germany, at least the first one (and probably the second one too) was to get around the Ukrainians.
Since 1991...where have you been?
