Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., repeatedly sidestepped a question about whether she believed illegal immigrants should receive taxpayer-funded healthcare during a CNN town hall on Wednesday night. Ocasio-Cortez, who continues to generate buzz as a possible 2028 presidential contender or a potential primary challenger to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., appeared alongside Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., to address questions about the ongoing government shutdown.
Jill Ireland, identified by CNN as a California Democrat who works in insurance, submitted a pre-taped question: “Do you think taxpayers should be paying for the medical care of immigrants who are in the country illegally?”
Ocasio-Cortez responded by calling out what she described as a “common lie” from Republicans who accuse Democrats of shutting down the government to provide free healthcare to illegal immigrants. “We already know that it’s federal law and federal statute that undocumented people cannot be covered by the [Affordable Care Act], they cannot be covered by Medicaid, they cannot be covered by Medicare. Period. That is the law of the land. There are plenty of federal laws on the books now,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

Sandy failed to mention that undocumented illegals were paroled to “lawfully present” by Brandon executive classification in order to receive benefits, and to be able to say “no illegals covered by ACA or getting benefits.”
I don’t know exactly who it was decided to start calling her AOC (pronounced OWK as in Hawk). A very unladylike nickname.
But now, I can’t think of her in any other way.
Sometimes she’s “Sandy from The Squad” when I want to be nice, but for the most part, she will always be “OWK” to me. Its more gutteral. For the last 2 years, she has exhibited less

Medicaid money does not go to persons on Medicaid. It goes to hospitals, doctors, providers, , and IT consulting companies.
The question is whether Medicaid should pay small rural hospitals for treating treating illegals? Or should the illegals not be treated? Or the private sector/churches should pay the hospitals? Or should the hospitals not get paid, go broke and close leaving no rural hospital for anyone?
The issue is complex. The #1 reason rural hospitals go broke and close is that both government and big name donors finance large urban medical centers that need large patient populations. Thus the rural hospitals are nothing more than feeding stations for the large urban hospitals.
There is a #2 reason of significance. The small rural hospitals that close are honest and do not know how to game the system. The big urban hospitals (and a few rural hospitals) game the system. A common way to game the system is to load the shopping cart. Just as a Walmart customer walks in intending to buy only milk and bread and walks out with a shopping cart full of items he never intended to buy, so the patient goes for one minor problem. But the hospital or provider loads up the bill with diagnosis and treatments for things not needed.
Fixing our healthcare system is a lot bigger, more complex than illegal immigrants.

If we had access to Ocrazio-Cortex and her time as a bartender, we would probably see her watching a video of how to pour a beer.

She LIED! Illegal aliens are covered! They are ALL on medicaid, social security and SS Disability and democrats know this. I know which insurance is getting billed! Their children and deliveries are paid for too!
In one of her news segments, that idiot referrers to illegals as “4 million Americans” who are being denied healthcare.
AOC is an A’hole
Her votes are her statements.
If it’s so vital that this funding to hospitals continues unabated, then why did Democrats write the bill with a sunset clause in it that ends this yr? Don’t they care about “free healthcare for all” that they claim is the cornerstone of the Democrat Party?
AOC’s lack of an answer is the same as a yes. She is in the affirmative in giving money to illegals. She is counting on their support at taxpayers expense..
If the Democrats solve a problem, then they won’t have that problem to run on next time.
Democrat bills in Congress (and many Republican bills) are intended to give the party an edge in the near future.
For example, Trumps first term tax cuts ended this year, intentionally to give the Republicans some leverage in what became the BBB.
