Dr. Az al-Din Shahab, a physician from the Gaza Strip, published an unusually harsh and deeply personal post on X, describing his mental collapse following the destruction of his home, family, and neighborhood. According to him, more than seventy members of his family were killed, and all his property was destroyed.
He wrote: “Since the early hours of the morning, my family and I have been living through a complete psychological breakdown. Today we learned that our homes, our land, and our entire neighborhood - every house belonging to our family and our neighbors - have been completely erased. Bulldozed. Flattened into yellow, silent dust.”
He continued: “From the first light of day, we experienced the full meaning of defeat. We lost more than seventy members of our family. We lost our land. We no longer have a home to return to, there are no walls to protect us, there is no longer any place we can call our own.”
.....
“One of Hamas’ leaders appears on television and declares that ‘the people were not defeated,’ that ‘Gaza stood firm and fought a historic war,’” he said.
“So let history record the following: I, Dr. Az al-Din Shahab of Gaza, along with my family, my friends, and their families - we did not fight in any war. We were the victims of a destruction ignited from within our homes by Hamas, only so that the IDF would powerfully strike Gaza’s civilians, while Hamas’ fighters vanished into their tunnels.”
He added: “Let history record the truth: We were defeated. Completely defeated - in pain, in humiliation. And only we, the residents of Gaza, have the right to say whether we were defeated or not - not those sitting comfortably in Qatar or Turkey.”

I wonder if Dr. Az al-Din Shahab voted for Hamas?
I wonder what Hamas expected after their atrocities.
I wonder if he and his family celebrated when Hamas...and ordinary? Palestinians invaded Israel, slaughtering, defiling and butchering all the Jews they could with absolute glee?
He likely voted for Hamas and would do so again.
War is hell.
Gee, I wonder if the good Doctor danced for joy when his elected leadership (HAMAS) acted like primitive savages on the innocent Israeli kids dancing and enjoying peace. I wonder if the good Doctor thought it was OK for his people to shove stakes and metal poles up live and dead women being raped and shredded, burned alive and mutilated to the point of no recognition. I wonder if he and his family were in the lest bit disturbed that his people strangled babies to death in front of their parents. Gee, good Doctor did you believe in the Hippocratic oath or cheer on your fellow scum while they were, “winning”...
They haven’t had an election in Gaza in 20 years. When did he supposedly vote for Hamas? When he was starting medical school? And back in 2005, Hamas was known as a charitable organization, not a terror organization. After they threw their last Fatah adherent off a roof, and machine gunned the Salafists in their Mosque, then they first started doing serious terrorism.
#8. ‘nuff said.
Publicly criticizing Hamas is tantamount to a death sentence. Nice knowing you Dr. Shabab!
Now that they’re weakened, the Gaza locals should show their euphoria at being freed, by killing the Hamas who sacrificed their children on the altar of Baal.
No more. They don’t have the power to carry out all the death sentences that they would have to in order to reconsolidate their power. Israel does not need to, nor can it, kill every last Hamas. The Gazans know who and where they are, and have the numbers to avenge themselves in colorful, gory ways in keeping with their culture. Pass the popcorn.
Right.
Hey Doc...Cry me a river!!
Maybe, Dr Ass, you should not have fired thousands and thousands of rockets into Israel, not killed thousands of civilians unprovoked, and not taken thousands of Israeli hostages, and not refused to give up hostages after your country was pounded into sand. Your Gaza should be bulldozed into the sea and all the unworthy inhabitants with it.
Where is your apology?
Shahab is now in deep doo doo. The punks of Hamas don’t take criticism very well.
He’s a doctor. His community depends on his help in the midst of a sh!t-hole on good days. They can rally around him, if they want to. Courage is infectious. So is cowardice.
Radical Muslims want to kill the Jews. Moderate muslims want the radical Mulims to kill the Jews.
About sums it up.
Well said I despise the term “radical Muslim”, for me the correct term is orthodox Muslim.
If you have read the Koran and understand Islam then there is no such thing as a radical Muslim, just a Muslim.
If you claim to be a Muslim but disagree with parts of Koran then you are an apostate (which is cause for death) or you are lying to make yourself appear more moderate (which is fully sanctioned by the Koran).
