Van Jones blames “the Jews” for media silence on Nigerian massacres—but the real reason isn’t anti-Semitic conspiracy; it’s the left’s selective outrage and ideological blind spots.
Van Jones, the CNN host and commentator, recently complained that neither the global left nor the mainstream media are covering the horrific violence against Nigerian civilians by Islamic terrorists.
True, they are not reporting the slaughter.
Truer still, they should be.
However, Van Jones went completely off the rails when he blamed “the Jews.”
Or as he put it, “No Jews, no news”—a stereotyped statement as anti-Semitic as it is untrue.
In truth, lots of mass violence worldwide is ignored.
Unlike Trump, neither the left nor the mainstream media cared much for the recent mass ethnic cleansing of Armenian Christians from Nagorno-Karabakh—more than 120,000—by Azerbaijani Muslims.
Nor did they report much on the dangerous May 2025 “mini” war between nuclear Pakistan and nuclear India, prompted by a mass killing by Pakistani terrorists.
These mostly ignored mass evacuations, terrorist acts, and ethnic cleansings had nothing to do with Jones’s absurd idea of “no Jews, no news.”
Nor were they neglected because of the color of the dead.
The West snored all through the 1990s when Russia obliterated Chechnya and left Grozny completely flattened.
Why then so much more attention to the Middle East conflicts, and for that matter, the Ukraine War?
The Middle East is the historic and volatile nexus of three continents: Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Choke points, like the Straits of Hormuz, Suez Canal, and Bosphorus, are critical to the global economy.
The region is the birthplace of three global religions—Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. Religious wars there have incited world attention continuously, from well before and after the Crusades.

Van thinks it is not racist if you are black and disparage whites or jews. And then thinks it is racist if these groups don’t especially like it.
VDH ping.
(Or as DEMOCRAT Van Jones put it, “No Jews, no news”)
WHY am I NOT surprised?
Now Jews no News? The MSM only covers the Jews because they think they are genocidal maniacs trying to exterminate all the arabs (no such thing as a palestinian) in the region. When was the last time you saw anything positive about Israel in the western media (aside from Fox).
That’s a truly weird accusation.
All of the stories about “The Jews” reminds me of the time of the Bolshevik revolution, the Protocols, and post WWI Europe. Let’s blame it all on the Jeeeews.
How about we solve our own problems without blaming a race of people?
That stuff never ends well.
The news doesn’t cover the black muslim Nigerian slaughter of black Christian Nigerians because the perpetrators are a double victim group and the group being slaughtered are only a single victim group.
Henry Louis Gates did Van Jones’ genealogy and found that he had an ancestor who was already free at the time of the 1850 census. The man had been emancipated in his owner’s will on condition of paying $800, but before he came up with the money he killed his owner’s brother. He was only found guilty of manslaughter and was given a pardon by the governor of Arkansas. Very unusual and Gates didn’t know the explanation for the pardon.
Of course, there still would be the U.S. interest in transportation choke points like the Suez Canal staying open. So even a 100% fully energy independent U.S. couldn't completely ignore the middle east madness. But it wouldn't be as big of a need.
True, and add to that the fact they can’t make crooked blood money from covering Nigeria or other similar conflicts, as their rich arab donors only pay for anti-jooo stories.
.
The pope cares more for screaming sodomites that reject God than devout Nigerians being slaughtered. The mess satan calls for.
VDH is wrong on several points here, such as Grozny, which the media made a big deal out of.
