Putin Ally Fires Nuclear Warning at Trump’s US
Newsweek ^ | Sept 25, 2025 | Shane Croucher

Top Kremlin official Dmitry Medvedev issued a fiery nuclear warning to the U.S. after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said officials in Moscow should learn where their nearest bomb shelter is if they don't end Russia's war.

Zelensky, in an interview with Axios, said U.S. President Donald Trump had given his explicit backing to Ukrainian strikes on Russian targets such as energy infrastructure and arms factories, and that if Kyiv receives more long-range American weaponry, then "we will use it".

"The Kiev drug addict said the Kremlin should know where a bomb shelter is so its occupants can hide when he uses long-range American weapons," Medvedev, who is deputy chairman to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the Kremlin's Security Council, and is himself a former president and prime minister of Russia, in a post on X.

"What the freak needs to know is that Russia can use weapons a bomb shelter won't protect against. Americans should also keep this in mind."

Somebody needs to tell President Trump he's making threats again.

That would be the last thing he or anyone in his family would ever do. In fact, it would be like they never existed.

This is the reason Iran will never have nukes, the countries are unstable and the leaders are sick.

Putin should have made a deal.
He could have got out with territory secured, trade agreements with Europe for oil and gas, and the rare earth metals.

Now, Putin is looking at either being deposed and killed, humiliated, or worse. His only option now will be to ‘threaten’ nuclear war, and maybe attack NATO nations to try to start WWIII before he is out of power and dead.

Putin “should have listened to Trump”, like so many others.

“This nutjob has been rattling the nuclear saber so much he makes Chicken Little and the Boy Who Cried Wolf seem like mutes.”

****

I don’t dispute your point about Russia asserting nuclear threats, but, it’s also a fact that the WEST has betrayed Russia’s Red Line against NATO tramping around their western border for decades, while betraying two Minsk Agreements, and sniffing other border nations to Russia for regime change to install preferred Putin hating leadership, as they did in UKR.

It’s phenomenal that Putin has been so silent and tolerant while POTUS tries to thread a needle on the UKR situation with his equally measured and biting insults to both sides, when it is pointedly the stupidity of the UK|EU support of Victoria Nuland’s Putin-hating Zelensky, that remains behind the stalemate. This is on them.. this slaughter of Ukrainian forced-to-serve men, a generation, already wiped out.

UK is desperate enough to go nuclear. Putin knows this. Decent enough of him to remind them that he is aware of their squealing and desperation, and that Russia has made herself able and ready since 2014.

What the US wants to do about all this, is our future.

Still, the EU will not allow Zelensky to deal. So, Putin continues.

Putin would be apt to return western UKR to Poland, actually. He has mentioned it. Probably hinting it was always theirs.
Maybe a thank you for staying out of the West’s proxy war games.

The weapons Russia needs can be manufactured in buildings dispersed in conifer forests smaller than a garage.

Ukraine can then use $100,000 American weapons to blow up small, cheap buildings in Potemkin Weapons Making Village #NN.

The fuel the Russian military needs, about as much of an American city of 100,000 might need, can be bought off Iran.

The rest of the Russian oil industry can be devoted 100% to civilian use. To attack it would be a war crime.

Extraction rights can be sold by the RF on the first of the year. The oil would then be 100% civilian. To attack it would be a war crime. Ukraine, of course, can try to blow up the oil while it is deep underground before the New Year.

Negotiations with Russia have long followed the pattern that they issue the most dire threats before making concessions or retreating from an untenable situation.

Putin should have made a deal.

Zelensky should have made a deal. He had many chances, until Boris Johnson ( and the West) flew in and told him to not accept the Istanbul treaty.

Fact is, Vlad will keep his ethnic Russian territories, no matter what occurs.

The UN meetings must have held him up. He usually threatens nuclear war on Tuesdays.

Look up Flamingo Missile.

Ukrainian made. (They used to make the rockets for the USSR.). And the factory is starting to put a lot of them out every week. They are also building launchers.

They can hit targets accurately from 1,800km away.

Ukraine doesn’t have to hit little buildings in the woods. They should be able to send salvos of dozens of these against refineries, ports, and airports within a couple of months.

It will be interesting to see if they send them against Moscow and St Pete’s. Maybe some schools or Children’s Hospitals? That seems to be the Russian targeting criteria. Tit for Tat.

“trade agreements with Europe for oil and gas, and the rare earth metals.”

Europe is moving away from oil and gas.

As for rare earths, the Chinese EV industry is unbeatable on a fair, level-paying field.

Maybe praying five times a day will help Europeans, but judging by the Middle East, expectations should be low.

Zelensky should have made a deal

Your right, and your wrong. Little z (i am not a fan of this guy) refused to listen to Trump initially (sound familiar) and wouldn’t make a deal. Trump escalated, and then finally, little z saw the light. He started to cooperate with Trump. Putin (or as I call him) Vlad the Invader, pretended to go along with Trump.

Who’s the idiot, both of those person’s who prolonged a stupid war and wouldn’t listen to Trump. Who is going to lose——the person who doesn’t listen to Trump. Little z figured it out. Vlad the Invader didn’t.
