Sinclair Broadcast Group on Monday evening announced they won’t broadcast Jimmy Kimmel Live! across its ABC affiliate stations after ABC caved.
Earlier Monday, ABC announced Jimmy Kimmel would be returning to the airwaves just six days after suspending him for lying about Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated at an event at Utah Valley University earlier this month.
Jimmy Kimmel lied to millions of people and claimed Kirk was assassinated by a MAGA conservative.
“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them — and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel told his audience.
This is, of course, a lie. Charlie Kirk was gunned down by a far-left, pro-transgender radical who hated him for his conservative political views.
The assassin, Tyler Robinson, lived with his transgender lover and said that if he had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, he would.
“I’ve had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out,” Robinson told his transgender lover about Kirk.
The Sinclair Group pushed back on ABC and announced Jimmy Kimmel’s show will be pulled from their ABC affiliates ‘indefinitely.’
“Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live! across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming. Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return,” Sinclair said on Monday evening.

Why even more news? Just have them air whatever is on a subchannel in that timeslot if they can't come up with something else.

Talk about not being able to read the room!!! ABC totally ignored the tidal wave of revival that enveloped the nation with the memorial service Sunday to return this vile human to their schedule. Good on Sinclair for their decision!!
RE: Why even more news?
On the version of the series Ellery Queen Mysteries set in the 1940s and 50s (Jim Hutton and the great David Wayne as his father) they had the elder Inspector Queen reading a newspaper item:
“This is terrible. One of the three television networks tonight is going to experiment with the idea of a nightly news program for a half hour at 6:30-—every weeknight. That’s wrong. The news for people to hear at the dinner hour? Why, they’ll get dyspepsia.”

Unless Kimmel self immolates first, which is very possible, even likely. Does anyone think Kimmel’s going to stop with the controversial, anti-MAGA, anti-Trump statements? I doubt he’ll even give a sincere-sounding apology, and his behavior will only get worse from there. My prediction is he’ll continue to alienate affiliates, and more and more of them will join Sinclair in not carrying the show.
In fact, if you want to consider a 3D chess explanation, maybe this is ABC’s plan all along - their way of taking some of the heat off of themselves. When more and more affiliates cancel the show, ABC can cancel Kimmel again and blame the decision squarely on the affiliates.
How can I feel smug about not watching Kimmel when my local station isn’t carrying him?
Makes sense. Let him blow up his career on his own.
They know Sinclair doesn't want kimmel back on air so Disney says he can go back on air knowing Sinclair will say no.
Sinclair comes out the bad guy.
