This is backwards. What Kimmel said was cover for him being fired for bad ratings.

Regardless, Broadcast Networks are PUBLIC AIRWAYS controlled by the FCC. you don’t have right to say what you want on PUBLIC AIRWAYS. Same with terrestrial radio is public airways.
This is why we invented cable years ago so we could see and hear spicy things on our tv
Go to the local stations...probably over two-thirds of them were asking for massive change...advertising wasn’t selling. The hour will end up going away....with stations picking their own solution to fill it.

How Jimmy Kimmel’s Suspension Went Down: Sponsor Panic, a Defiant Host and a Painful Call
Disney’s Bob Iger and Dana Walden wanted to know how Kimmel was going to address the situation. Sources say he planned to defend what he said rather than “kowtowing” to the outrage. Disney thought that would fan the flames.
He was going to double down on violating the law. It is against the law to knowingly lie about a crime, and saying Tyler Robinson is MAGA is a known lie.
Combine a straight up violation of the law concerning a broadcaster using the public spectrum with affiliates not happy because of poor ratings and pressure from advertisers for give backs, and you’ve got a perfect storm to be rid of Kimmel. Who is not funny.
There is a reason why God created test patterns. His name is Jimmy Kimmel. The local affiliates losing advertisers and money in Kimmel’s time slot would be justified in going revenue neutral with a test pattern that hour.
Free speech? What happened to $ loser Jimmy Kimmel was the supply demand equation. Simply put, too much of one (in his case, one was too much) and too little of the other.
Bring back late night bad horror films with “The Ghoul”, “Elvira” etc. if they want ratings.
Or bring back CLASSIC movies.
I remember as a kid coming home from church on Sunday and watching The Big Show of the Week. Some of which were Marx brothers movies. Others were the Johnny Wisemuller Tarzan movies or old westerns.
Of course, many of these Tarzan movies were NOT politically correct. The natives were portrayed as savages. Just like in 99% of the old westerns the Indians were also savages. The ONLY modern western that showed this was “Hostiles” with Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike. Where the Cheyenne Indians killed her entire family in the first five minutes of the movie. It also later showed that the cavalry and White settlers were also savages(hostiles).
Exactly. Poor performance was the only reason for Kimmel getting fired. If he was raking in ratings and cash, he could have said anything about Charlie Kirk and stayed on the air.
I would watch The Ghoul reruns.
I remember watching him on WKBD at 11:30 on Saturday nights as a kid.

You could never make or remake that show today.

Meanwhile Gutfeld THRIVES on cable and his show is available in a lot less homes than broadcast like Kimmel.
I wish Fox had the balls to put him on their broadcast network.
