US Jewish security group warns firearms in synagogues need strict oversight

A US Jewish security group said in a Tuesday report that if synagogues allow firearms inside their doors for security, the weapons should only be permitted in an organized, structured program, with strict oversight and coordination with law enforcement.

The Secure Community Network (SCN), a leading Jewish security group in North America, released the report, titled “Weapons at Worship,” amid an increase in antisemitism and security fears among US Jewish communities.

Synagogues and other Jewish groups have employed a range of security measures in response, from volunteer guards to krav maga training. Some Jews have pushed for more firearms for protection, but the efficacy and wisdom of carrying guns is disputed.

Sound like failure from the get go. "Shall not be infringed" remains superior.

Christian churches in Oklahoma have long had a lot of members who carry in worship. One congregation we visited recently had the preacher acknowledge that fact in one of his illustrations.

In fact, that congregation had organized a protocol for armed members in case of an attack.

Dunno what the Jews are worried about. Their fears are unfounded. Sounds more like leftist commie anti gun Jews who are voicing protests. And there are a lot of leftist commie Jews running around.

It appears that they want Jews to be slaughtered rather than protecting themselves with firearms.

Sounds as if the “Jewish Security Group”, probably a small fringe organization, thinks Jews are more violent and untrustworthy than Christians. Tens of thousands of Christian churches do this without the strict oversight the JSG recommends, and have not had any problems.

On reading the article more closely, the recommendations are not unreasonable.

It is the way they are presented by the media which makes them sound unreasonable.

I suspect the main concern is if something DOES happen they don’t want armed congregants shooting each other......I know that’s a concern at my church, because I heard that very thingvfrom staff members. I wouldn’t doubt if at least 25% the congregation is armed on any given Sunday.

Despite what a lot of folks think, Israel is not that firearm friendly for everyday citizens.

Never heard of this group. Our Rabbi doesn’t make a big deal about it, but knows who is carrying in the Congregation. It is an understood thing.

For some unknown reason Jews seem to fear personal weapons.
1 Samuel 13:
19And no blacksmith could be found in all the land of Israel, because the Philistines had said, “The Hebrews must not be allowed to make swords or spears.” 20Instead, all the Israelites would go down to the Philistines to sharpen their plowshares, mattocks, axes, and sickles......

22So on the day of battle not a sword or spear could be found in the hands of the troops with Saul and Jonathan; only Saul and his son Jonathan had weapons.

They don’t fear them any more. They’re buying them and learning how to use them.

Were someone planning a mass shooting at a church or synagogue, it would likely be a liberal Protestant or Reform Jewish congregation, or a Catholic parish known to be liberal. Attacking a Church of Christ, Southern or independent Baptist, PCA Presbyterian, Assemblies of God, or independent Bible church would result in the shooter being quickly dispatched, hopefully before he killed someone.

The Secure Community Network (SCN), created by the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. In other words, pathetic Democrat Party front groups. Probably now hated by Wokesters.
