Fed Governor Lisa Cook ‘did not ever commit mortgage fraud,’ her lawyer says
CNBC ^ | Sep 2 2025 | Kevin Breuninger

Federal Reserve Board Governor Lisa Cook “did not ever commit mortgage fraud,” her lawyer Abbe Lowell said Tuesday in a new court filing bolstering arguments why a judge should temporarily block President Donald Trump from firing her.

Lowell argued in the same filing that any of Cook’s statements that she made on mortgage applications — which Trump has cited as the reason for her termination — do not give the president legal cause to remove her.

Lowell said multiple federal government entities received her mortgage details before the Senate first confirmed her nomination to the Fed in May 2022. The same information was disclosed to the White House prior to her appointment by former President Joe Biden, Lowell wrote.

“The Government has long known about the alleged facial inconsistencies in Governor Cook’s financial documents,” he wrote.

Now we find out that Biden and the Senate knew Lisa Cook was a crook before she was approved to be a Fed Reserve Governor.

Trump has fired Biden for his collusion. How does Trump now fire the Senators who also colluded??????

“””the alleged facial inconsistencies in Governor Cook’s financial documents”””””””

That’s a pretty fancy way to say she lied on applications.

Her mortgage info was supplied to the WH prior to
her appointment by ex-President Biden in May 2022.

Biden knew she was a cheat but appointed her anyway.

Another scam Democrats pulled over on the public.

Does it ever end?

It appears that her lawyer is claiming she can’t be fired for being a liar because they knew she was a liar when they hired her.

If this was Trump they would raid the lawyer’s office and threaten him with jail time unless he was able to incriminate his client. We should do that.

A boss should be able to fire an employee for any reason.

@C_3C_3

Lisa Cook…

Smart enough to be 1 of 7 Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve.

But not smart enough to fill out a simple mortgage application.

Property 1: clerical error
Property 2: clerical error
Property 3: clerical error

The scam they’re selling.

No one is buying it.

Same sort of justification that socialists are using to justify allowing illegals to say. Overstaying a visa is a ‘paperwork error’. If I don’t file taxes, is it just a paperwork error?

Possibly true - but that would mean the mortgage documents were drafted for her by Democrat activists as a bribe because she was not smart enough to complete them herself.

She refinanced the two properties she already owned and bought the Atlanta condo in 2021 (not 2022 as posted in an article quote yesterday).

“Cook purchased the Ann Arbor home in 2005 for $310,000. In June 2021, she took out a 15-year mortgage of $203,000 on the home from the University of Michigan Credit Union, at an interest rate of about 2.9%....At the time, Cook was a professor at Michigan State University, some 60 miles away.”

“Cook indicated on mortgage documents signed in April 2021 she would use the ...[Cambridge condo] primarily as a second home for at least one year, public records show.”

Later documents “she stated she would use the Atlanta property as a primary residence for at least one year.”

“Cook earns more than $50,000 a year in rental income from the condo”

“There are circumstances in which naming two places as a primary residence is allowed, like in advance of a move.”

https://www.realtor.com/news/trends/properties-in-lisa-cook-allegations/

It’s not uncommon for people to own a house in Florida and one up north.

My neighbor Johnny, a roofing contractor, at times owned three houses. He didn’t move into his current residence on my street for, as I recollect, well over a year.

Epstein owned a NYC townhouse, a ranch in New Mexico and, as I recollect, residences on two different islands.

Rich people collect residences.

If Cook had say a parent living in the Atlanta area, then the government would probably lose its case.

If she hasn’t spent weeks in the Atlanta condo, it will look bad for Cook.
