Appeals court permits Trump EPA to terminate ‘gold bars’ climate funding
Washington Examiner ^ | 9/2/25 | Maydeen Merino

An appeals court has overturned a federal judge’s ruling blocking the Environmental Protection Agency from terminating $20 billion in grants for several climate groups.

A three-judge U.S. Court of Appeals panel on Tuesday issued a 2-1 ruling in favor of the Trump EPA’s efforts to slash billions of dollars in grant money to green groups obligated during former President Joe Biden‘s administration. The District of Columbia Circuit Court judges were Gregory Katsas, Neomi Rao, and Cornelia Pillard, who dissented.

The district court “abused its discretion” by issuing the injunction preventing the EPA from rescinding the funds, the judges wrote. They said the plaintiffs were not likely to succeed in their case because it belonged in the Court of Federal Claims, rather than the district court.

The “gold bars” were blatant corruption. It should be a crime to work for an agency, use your position at the agency to fund an NGO and then work for the NGO afterward and be paid with the money that your agency funded to the NGO. That is theft in all but name. No different than embezzling money directly from the government. In fact, embezzlement is better - at least there is no inefficiency that comes from going through a grant process.

The amount of money that the Biden administration employees pushed out the door to fund the NGOs in which their family members worked should be considered criminal.

It should be a bigger crime to shovel $10 billion out the door to firms with zero experience and zero capability with no specified Statement of Work and no specified deliverables. That corruption should put people in prison.

Pillard is a Benedict Obama stooge, who made sure he installed treasonous stooges like Pillard throughout the judiciary.

The case involved another Benedict Obama stooge, Tanya "I Ain't Frum Dis Country" Chutkan.

Pillard also threw a judicial hissy fit in the contempt case against the Trump adminstration, but the little female dog was once again slapped down by Katsas and Rao.

The three-judge panel split, with U.S. Circuit judges Neomi Rao and Gregory Katsas — both Trump appointees — siding with the administration.

That is theft in all but name.

Tanya Chutkan, a Benedict Obama stooge, was A-OK with the theft.

She's a DEI foreigner from Jamaica, used to government corruption.

Oh look, another leftist political hack on the federal district court just got slapped down.

They’re setting all kinds of records for getting overturned under President Trump.

Now, spank that judge hard, as in removal from the bench & paycheck, for about 6 months, to get her head right.

Did you read Pillard’s dissent? I did but want you to read it and tell us what you think it means.

“Did you read Pillard’s dissent? I did but want you to read it and tell us what you think it means.”

I started reading it, but quit in disgust when the judge started insinuating all tax dollars belong to those who demand it and it is unconstitutional to deprive them of that money (in so many words).

This sentence:

“EPA has done all that without presenting to any court any credible evidence or coherent reason that could justify its interference with Plaintiffs’ money and its sabotage of Congress’s law.”

However, I did like this footnote from the majority ruling:

“Our jurisdiction, however, rests on law, not on the severity of the alleged wrongdoing claimed by the grantees and reported by The Washington Post, The New York Times, and Politico.”

Yes but I’m sick of this country’s policy being run by the courts.

They are overstepping their authority.
