Representatives of the Jewish community in Iran strongly criticized the Australian government’s decision to expel the Iranian ambassador over allegations of Iranian involvement in the Melbourne synagogue attack last weekend. They claimed that the decision was based on prejudice against Iranian Muslims.
The representatives spoke to Iranian state media and noted that about 15,000 Jews live in the country and there are one hundred active synagogues in various cities.
They also claimed that synagogues in Iran are open without security, unlike in European countries where police protection is required.

A big lie is a gross distortion or misrepresentation of the truth primarily used as a political propaganda technique. The German expression was first used by Adolf Hitler in his book Mein Kampf to describe how people could be induced to believe so colossal a lie because they would not believe that someone “could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously”. More proof you can’t trush anything the “media” says. They all are liars regardless of which country they spew for. The “media” just lies all the time. They all went to the same schools for liars.
There are Jews still in Iran? How can that be? Don’t they read the newspapers?
Back when I was a young whippersnapper, and the Ayatollah took over, a bunch of Iranian teenagers descended on my yeshiva, having been smuggled out by their parents.
I’ve read that Muslims are fine with infidels, provided that they pay the infidel tax, are subjected to annual humiliation, and live as second-class citizens. It’s easy to imagine Jewish “representatives” speaking up for the Iranian regime. It’s that or far worse for them and their people.
I’m sure there are Muslim apologists and Jew-obsessed westerners, who will argue otherwise. My litmus test is to remember all the Muslim acts of terrorism over the decades. It’s part of their religion. There is nothing quite like it.
One can scrounge around and find eco-terrorism, leftist terrorism, real and imagined war crimes, etc. Few of these cases stand up to scrutiny. None of it stems from Christianity or Judaism.
It’s been well documented by people who have gotten out that these statements are in decoerced, and that every synagogue has Iranian regime spies in it.
It sounds like the churches in Soviet regime.
They executed half of the clergy, and most of us are safely in camps called gulag, but we are SAFE!
Comrade Stalin is personally taking care about us!
15,000? How many in Saudi Arabia?
I thought it was about 50,000 at the end of the 1990's.
Those that could get out, did. Sometimes the formerly wealthy with just the clothes on their backs, their fortunes having gone to bribes and able ferriers.
None. Those who lived in Yemen since the days of Solomon are now a mere handful. Most went to Israel and America.
WHAT “jewish community” in Iran? I guess we are expected to believe that such a thing exists?
There most definitely is, going back thousands of years. Very reduced from what it once was, but a few thousand have not yet found a way out.
There are some in Iraq and Syria, too, and a very few in Yemen. Morocco and Turkey, too. It’s a horrible place to live in, and you wouldn’t want to visit there.
Islam has always been accepting of members of other faiths, so long as they accepted their second-class status and paid their Dhimmi tax...
From Wiki:
Prior to the Islamic Revolution in 1979, there were 100,000 Jews in Iran, mostly concentrated in Tehran (60,000), Shiraz (18,000), Kermanshah (4,000), and Isfahan (3,000).
It should also be noted that during the oil embargo by Arab nations Iran, then under the Shah, did not join the embargo.
And, why would I give a damn that Jews in Iran feel safe when my beef is with Iranians in Aussi-land killing folks there? There is not connection.
I will beeet you!!!!!!!!
— Ali Khamanei, probably
It’s almost impossible to imagine, but I seriously doubt they feel “safe” OR “secure”.
