A recent opinion piece published in The Times of Israel claimed that “Netanyahu’s Israel is costing American Jews.” The assertion reverses the truth. Israel’s defense of its people is not the source of diaspora alienation. The real fracture is self-inflicted, rooted in assimilation, political misjudgment, and a refusal to recognize Israel’s forensic, historical, scientific, and legal rights to its land.

History makes this pattern clear. Hashem has always used imperfect leaders to secure justice. Cyrus of Persia was a pagan king, yet he freed the Jews from Babylonian captivity and authorized the rebuilding of the Temple (Ezra 1). In modern times, Donald Trump, despite his flaws, delivered decisive outcomes: the recognition of Jerusalem, the US embassy move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the Abraham Accords, and deterrence against Iran. Hashem works through imperfect instruments, and Jewish survival has never been contingent on Western approval.

Critics of Netanyahu invoke the “Masada Complex” to trivialize Jewish survival. Israel is not imagining siege; it is under siege. Hamas murdered over 1,200 Israelis on October 7, Hezbollah fires rockets from Lebanon, and Iran repeatedly vows to erase Israel from the map. To dismiss existential threats as psychology is to mock both history and evidence.

I saw Eric Weinstein in Israel talking about this. The Israeli’s contention was that the point above is all true.

Weinstein then said, well is that all true for the Germans? Because the Israelis’ point was the equivalent of saying “blood on land”

She nails the main culprits. Political misjudgment has been a huge problem, but Trump getting between 30-35% of the Jewish vote in 2024 up from 20-25% in 2016 is a decent step in the right direction. Conservative Jews outbreeding progs both here and in Israel bodes well.

Yeah, I’ve seen many leftists (Jewish and otherwise) attempt to explain why they hate Bibi, and almost invariably the answer is something along the lines of ….”uhh, well…he’s the Trump of Israel.” Which of course is a non-explanation.
