Jim Jordan invites Nigel Farage to Capitol Hill to bash tech laws

House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan is escalating the U.S.’s war over foreign tech regulations with a hearing next week on “European threats to American free speech and innovation” — with nationalist United Kingdom leader Nigel Farage as a witness.

The hearing before the House Judiciary Committee comes in the wake of President Donald Trump threatening punitive tariffs for any countries enforcing tech laws on U.S. companies.

Overseas tech laws have become a flashpoint in relations between the U.S. and its allies. Jordan’s hearing specifically targets the U.K.’s Online Safety Act, which went into effect in late July and the European Union’s Digital Services Act, a content-moderation law. The committee claims the laws “threaten Americans’ right to speak freely online in the United States.”

The laws — intended to police websites for pornographic and hateful content — have become tangled in the political debate over free speech in the U.S., where Republicans see content moderation as an effort to silence conservative voices

STFU, Aaron Mak!

I really don’t think Jim Jordan is worried about British law, except that it should not be applied against American people and companies in America.

If you’re American, follow our dang Constitution!

I’m always amazed when journalists oppose free speech.

Gold old “Alphabet Jim” covering for his benefactors.

I used to be the biggest Jordan fan out there. After watching his spinelessness over the past 10 years and actually meeting him a couple years ago, I understand that he is a weasel.

Jim who?

Jim Jorden. You know, exactly like Forrest Comer, Chuck Grassley and countless other gutless, spineless, hand-wringing Repukelican pansies who start countless investigations of the crimes committed by liberal filth that simply evaporate into the air like a Swalwell fart during a TV interview a day later...

“I understand that he is a weasel.”

Bull. Actually read the article. It’s in English.

He. Won’t. Do. Anything.

He will invite people to speak. He will hold hearings. He will grill people in front of cameras. But he is a spineless weasel. He won’t expend one ounce of political capital to accomplish ANYTHING conservative.

He says all of the right things and you can bet that he would enact all of the conservative policies too….as soon as the Democrats and media go along with it and he won’t bear any cost or accept any risk.

Spineless.

The EU wants content moderation as Twitter was pre-Musk: A political weapon intent on maintaining liberal progressive power.

Go suck on a wet rag, Brussels.

Politics is many things. One of them is the art of the possible.

Reagan: 70% of something good is better than 0% of the perfect.

Jordan accomplishes 0%

He is a Republican’t

On a number of occasions over the past couple years he could have made an actual attempt at becoming speaker. He either declined to run or gave it a half hearted attempt to placate his base and withdrew after the first failed vote.

He has folded over and over again.

The reason why our country lurches to the left every congressional session, federal budgets increase every year, we lose our sovereignty every year, etc... regardless of whether the Dems have a big majority, a small majority or even a small minority.... is because our party is filled with Republican’ts like Jordan.

Nobody thought it was possible for Trump to do half of the stuff he has done. If it were up to people like Jordan, none of it would have gotten done.

Nearly all of the GOP congressmen are spineless weasels except a few who will actually stick their neck out to at least try to enact conservative policies. Despite all of his Kabuki theater, Jordan is one of the weasels not the brave pioneers who actually take arrows.
