WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s enforcement operations in Washington, D.C., have resulted in more than 1,000 arrests in less than a month, White House data shared with The Daily Wire show.
The president’s enforcement operation began on Thursday, August 7, and since then, there have been a total of 1,094 arrests, a White House official shared with The Daily Wire. Two missing children have been rescued, and eight known gang members have been arrested, including MS-13 and Tren De Aragua gang members.
Authorities have also seized 115 firearms, the White House official shared, and cleared 49 homeless encampments through the help of multi-agency teams. The Metropolitan Police Department patrol units are working with city officials to find and clear more of these encampments.
“This whole of government effort to improve public safety is in compliance with the President’s March Executive Order establishing the Making DC Safe and Beautiful Task Force,” a White House official explained to The Daily Wire, noting that the details of the government effort are subject to change to meet law enforcement needs as operations continue.
These arrests are the result of heavy federal presence in Washington, as well as many nightly arrests within the nation’s capital. The White House has been updating reporters daily on the events of the previous night, typically sharing that around 80 arrests were made during the last evening.
On Monday night, for example, federal authorities made a total of 87 arrests. Of those 87, 39 were illegal aliens, and some had prior arrests for DUI, simple assault, second degree assault, sexual solicitation, felony robbery, contempt of court, and more.
One Mexican illegal alien arrested on Monday night had a prior arrest for child rape and three prior immigration encounters. Another illegal alien arrested on Monday evening was a member of Tren de Aragua.
Authorities also arrested an adult male “wanted for questioning” in an ongoing homicide investigation, as well as for parole violation, an adult male for simple assault (who was later identified as a member of the neo-Nazi, white supremacist group Aryan Nation, and had additional non-extraditable warrants from Texas). Additionally, they arrested individuals for felony possession of a firearm, armed carjacking, carrying a pistol without license, a child abuse warrant, and more.
Monday evening’s enforcement activities also involved seizing four illegal firearms.
The president has suggested that he is eyeing Chicago as the next location for his federal enforcement operations, saying he would like to work with Democratic governors and mayors to deploy the National Guard to major cities to address violent crime.
On Tuesday, Illinois Democratic Governor JB Pritzker responded to Trump’s suggestions, saying that Trump and the National Guard are “neither wanted here nor needed here.”
“If this was really about fighting crime or making the streets safe, what possible justification could the White House have for planning such an exceptional action without any conversations or consultations with the governor, the mayor, or the police?” Pritzker asked. “Let me answer that question. This is not about fighting crime. This is about Donald Trump searching for any justification to deploy the military in a blue city in a blue state to try to intimidate his political rivals.”
Pritzker called Trump’s plans “exactly the type of overreach that our country’s founders warned against.”
“Earlier today in the Oval Office, Donald Trump looked at the assembled cameras and asked for me personally to say, ‘Mr. President, can you do us the honor of protecting our city?’” Priztker added. “Instead, I say, ‘Mr. President, do not come to Chicago. You are neither wanted here nor needed here.’”
Well, Fatso, it does no good to try to talk to a Democrat.
He’ll just raise his FAT hand and shake his cane at you.
His goal is to destroy the country.
You people are evil.

The truth -- which everybody knows -- is that the Governor and Mayor wouldn't cooperate with Trump even if they hadn't already taken the position publicly. It would be political suicide for them as Democrats. So talking with them would have been pointless.
The cops fall under the mayor as well, so their leadership wouldn't talk to Trump either.
That being said, the odds of this happening anyway are very, very small. Just an entirely different universe legally from intervening in D.C.. So the whole thing is Kabuki theater anyway.

what they heard with their itching ears?
What if there’s more going on in DC than just street crime cleanup?
Like military ops that are targeting enemies foreign and domestic that are dealing with ‘crimes’ a little more to do with National Security or counter terrorism, etc.
And maybe those kind of clean ups get someone a trip to Gitmo and not a DC jail.
A five year old was murdered this last weekend. Let the Illinois governor go to his mothers house and say, we did not need help. You and the thousand other murder victims this year will die because its politically necessary. Chicago pays a huge amount for police and still has murders because the police department pays for too many public employees who do not walk the streets.
Exact point I was going to make. It’s not the arrests, it’s the prosecutions.
I can only hope that THAT is being monitored as well.
