On August 3, someone was shot about five blocks from my house in Washington, DC. Just two nights before, we had called 911 because of gunfire nearby—not an unusual occurrence. A week later, someone was murdered six or seven blocks away, in broad daylight. My neighborhood also has the usual urban scourges: porch pirates, the CVS where everything is under lock and key, the ATV drivers who roar up and down the street doing wheelies and terrorizing motorists and pedestrians alike.
President Donald Trump has recently decided he would save us from all this. Last week, he moved to federalize DC’s Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and sent hundreds of federal officers and National Guard soldiers into the city. Dozens of masked thugs arrived in my neighborhood, where they set up traffic checkpoints, abducted delivery drivers, and marched up and down the sidewalk in tactical gear, while confused residents and restaurant patrons looked on or called them fascists.

Surprise, surprise! A writer, not reporter, admitting crime in DC exists instead of claiming it doesn’t.

Going by news reports, it appears that the car jacking, shop lifting, mugging black youth have stood down during the Trump police surge waiting for the coast to be clear. The DC council has decriminalized crimes committed by black youth in an effort to keep them out of prison. For a lasting impact on crime the laws must be changed and mass incarceration reinstated.

Just another leftist trying to redefine the meaning of common words. In this case it’s “thugs”. Enforcing the law now makes you a thug. Who knew? And “abducting delivery drivers” is apparently the new way of referring to illegal aliens being taken into custody.

What a joke. Everything the Democrats did was pro-crime, pro-anarchy, pro-violence, and pro-criminal. We are living in a much more dangerous nation because a woman who copies a hard drive and demonstrates voter fraud spends 9 years in prison, and racist that kills someone gets released on bail. The Democrats did this. Grandma at Jan. 6th gets her life ruined while those that tried to burn officers in a building in Seattle get off or no real time. I would discuss the NYC persecution of Trump, but the courts already said they violated his 8th Amendment rights. They promoted crime, and invited criminal from other nations to participate. They created disparate justice. They turned the wheels of government into a political weapon and destroyed Justice and Integrity.
Justice and Integrity is a little hard to get back and takes a long time. Stop blaming Trump for what the ‘Liberals’ ‘Progressives’ and Democrats broke.
Mr President, PLEASE crush violent crime in ALL US cities, not just DC! Only YOU are bold enough to do this! If you do it, you’ll be the greatest President in my lifetime! PLEASE rid us of this atrocious lethal scourge of rampant senseless violence!

What if witnesses of crimes and potential jurors began to feel a little safer when they talked to cops, or felt safer in their homes Steph? Do you think % of homicides solved would go up?
