Eat your hearts out Democrats. We have so much presidential material with true leadership qualities we hate to see it go to waste.

The competition within our own party for President is going to be exciting to watch.

The Democrats will be doing what they do best...bitch, piss, moan and wonder what WTF happened...AGAIN.

Imagine. We were in a bad shape before 2016. At the time, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan were "leaders" of the GOP. But really they were Assistant Democrats.

We have a very deep bench to work with.

During Trump’s first term, my concern was that MAGA would die with him. I no longer worry about that.

Why should we share strategy with our slave states, when all they want is for Trump to fail?

“I give Tulsi an A+++ in her role, her nomination was an outstanding choice”

The Democrats understood her FAR BETTER than the Republicans, which is why they fear her so much. I suspect that she’s target #1 for their operatives, even above Trump.

I might have thought that too if I ever saw any signs in him giving up...Never happen.

I find her incredibly attractive and it’s amplified by her work as DNI. I think her name is pretty cute too.

++++++++

Excellent for placing under car in driveway that was the persistent engine / trans oil leak

You can also place under cat litter box if kitty misses the target

Others?

I had quite the conversion of opinion on Tulsi Gabbard, I thought you might appreciate the contrast. (I know this is long, but bear with me):

I wrote this in July of 2020 when she had already dropped out of the Democrat race for the candidacy, and she began to soften her stances on some things:

"...The bottom line for me is that she is a Leftist.

Tulsi Gabbard is part of the Democrat Party. After watching what the Democrat Party has done since January 20, 2017 in general, and during this medical crisis in specific, it has only cemented what I have thought since 1992: Democrats are unfit to be anywhere near the levers of power.

If they loved the principles this country was founded on, I would take that into account. But they don't. They don't even pay it lip service, since hearing ANY of them say anything positive about the Constition is always wrapped in a grasp for power and grifting self-interest, so when you hear it...you see right through the fakery of it.

I have even gotten to the point military service isn't even redeeming for a Democrat politician in my eyes any more. I cannot see how the positions endorsed by the Democrat Party are in any way compatible with the oath all military people take (or used to take):

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Now, I wish someone could tell me how-HOW any Democrat politician who served in the military and took that oath (or one like it) is NOT an oathbreaker?

With the stands her party takes, the party she has chosen to champion and be part of, being a Democrat politician and former military is prima facie evidence that the character of the person is corrupt by default.

Now, I am sorry to say that, but I believe that statement is true. Sadly. But there it is.

So, while Tulsi Gabbard may be a congenial person, may have served in the military, may be fairly attractive, and may less radical that some, she still believes in what they believe, and that invalidates her oath as a military person and renders her (and others like her) to be unfit to hold office, never mind be the Commander in Chief of the US armed forces..."

Then, while I was visiting a friend down in Florida in March of 2024 (almost exactly four years later) my buddy wanted to watch an interview of Tulsi Gabbard by Tucker Carlson. I didn't want to watch it (I haven't watched network television or the news since 1998) so much so that I determined I was not going to even pay attention, I viewed her as a snake in the grass, not to be trusted. But then I immediately realized I was being pig-headed about it, and determined to watch it. (I was unaware of what the Democrats had done and were doing to her at the time)

Here is what I wrote shortly after that interview (the post below, written in April of 2024 was referencing the post in bold, blue italics above):

The bottom line for me is that she is a Leftist.

"...That had been my evaluation of Tulsi Gabbard in March of 2020. I viewed her as a Hawaiian Leftist Hack, Vice Chair of the DNC, gun grabber, pro-abortion, fully invested in Leftism and the Democrat Party.

Then, on March 26, 2024 I was visiting a friend down in Florida. We got back to his house after dinner and settled in, and he turned on the television. I don't watch television at all. He wanted to watch Tucker Carlson interview Tulsi Gabbard (LINK: Tucker Carlson Interviews Tulsi Gabbard.

I was not in the least bit interested. But it was my buddy's house...I wanted to be polite. But I was so viscerally against even listening to a word that came out of her venomous mouth, that I determined to sit politely and surf the Internet while my friend watched.

But it occurred to me: Why do I feel so strongly that the sound of her voice irritates me so deeply? What am I afraid of? I had managed to go nearly eight years of Barack Obama without hearing more than a sentence out of his mouth, mostly because I don't watch television, but the sound and tone of his voice nearly nauseated me. Why was I avoiding even seeing her face and hearing her voice? It wasn't because she is a reasonably attractive woman, something I admittedly have a weakness for, and have to guard against, which I kept forefront in my mind as I thought about who she was and what she stood for.

So I resolved, against my will, to watch the interview, really watch it. And I forced myself not to close my eyes or my mind as I watched, to keep them open and evaluate.

As I watched, she spoke extemporaneously, not from a prepared script. I kept in mind that she was a politician, and an ambitious one, a terrible combination in a Leftist, the WORST combination in my estimation.

But as she spoke about what she believed, and what the Left had been doing to her, I realized: She was a Leftist who had been mugged by the Left. They had treated her with disrespect, contempt, and made her a target in many ways.

As I have found in some conversations I have had with people who do not declare they are liberal or conservative and appear not to know themselves what they are (though indications are, based on discussion, more Left than I am) when I ask pointed questions and get honest answers, I often end up concluding that the person is no Leftist or even a liberal, and I tell them, that base on what we have discussed, they are not a Leftist or a liberal, but a conservative.

Those questions often span economics, wealth, taxes, social programs, education policy, feminism, environmental policy, foreign policy, American history, work ethics and attitudes, God, law enforcement, the military, and so on, and though I admit I have never encountered someone who did a Perry Mason-like conversion from Leftism to Conservatism, I have had people who I was able to discuss these things without rancor thought carefully about what I said, and I am confident, reflected on it later. To be fair, most of these conversations resulted from my voicing my opinion and that person then realizing I was one of those evil conservatives, would ask me "Why are you a conservative?"

As a result, I am not unfamiliar with these kinds of explorations. So, as I watched Tulsi Gabbard, I realized she was not at all the person I had made her out to be, and when the interview was done, I thought about it on my long drive home (24 hours total over two days) in my car, and for some time afterwards, and had to conclude I had been wrong about her.

Again, though I disagree with her on some key issues, I recognized her views had more in common with my views outside of those. And it was pretty clear to me she had an internal reckoning, and a painful one, that caused her to re-evaluate her own beliefs, one of the hardest things that people have to do.

And I felt shame to a degree for my judgements on her, though to be fair to myself, those judgements were made when she was part of the Democrat Machinery.

So, yes. I feel quite differently about her today than I did in March of 2020. I don't see her as the type of Conservative that someone like David Horowitz is, but I fully accept she is out of step with 99% of the Democrat Party, and in line with perhaps 75% of most conservatives I know.

It doesn't mean I want her as President or even Vice President, even though I think we could do far, FAR worse. But I think there is a place for her.

As you say, People Do Change. We need to keep that in mind..."

So...I had to do a complete 180 on her as a politician, and I have never been more satisfied to have been so wrong about something and allowed myself to change my mind. And that was all before Trump brought her into the fold.
