Medicals costs keep going up, and until that’s addressed, it won’t be possible to fix insurance.

College tuition keeps going up and until this is addressed the loan crisis can't be addressed.

It's the same problem. You create a government program to enable costs to rise and voila they do. If free market discipline were force on either industry costs would be controlled and the administrative and management overhead burden would be dramatically reduced.

As abortion is not health care, medical insurance is not medicine. Insurance as implemented is totally corrupted.

The equivalent “medical insurance” for automobiles would be making a claim each time I bought gas.

... but, but I though technology (and AI) would make everything more affordable.

Agree, "Insurance" is just a pool of money that pays the expenses for the unfortunate that utilize expensive health care treatments. That is the easy part, it's simple math. The treatments are going up and those being treated are going up i.e. how many knee replacements or various transplants are happening in 2025 vs, 1970. Testing is more prevalent as is pharmaceutical dispensing. People are consuming more of an ever increasing costly product.

Fixing health insurance or addressing healthcare costs has so many entrenched parties making it almost impossible to fix.

If you didn’t have health insurance, you have very few choices in paying for healthcare, you could self-insure but only the wealthy could afford healthcare, or you could have a single-payer government run healthcare system. I’m not sure what other alternatives exist.

My suggestion which will never happen would be to curtail medical liability laws, doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers pay a fortune for medical malpractice insurance and conduct needless test and procedures to cover themselves from malpractice lawsuits.

You have no idea what the cost of healthcare is when you need everything from a primary care provider or major surgery.

Won’t happen.

Evidence: Big pharma remains wholly untouched and continues to influence not only the bureaucratic state, but the Hill and POTUS.

If that was false, EUAs would have been rescinded MONTHS ago, there would be no more mandates and victims would have recourse against the government’s - and pharma’s - crimes (SOLELY in reference to the plandemic). The IDIC (Illness/Disease Industrial Complex, aka MIC) is the foundation of the problem.

Translated (in THEIR words):

“Suck it up.”

Indeed, medical costs keep going up, for individuals even when insured. At the same time, we lead the world in medical innovation because potential profits lie in creating it, we don’t have to wait for state-of-the-art treatment to nearly the degree people in other countries do, we have a certain amount of freedom (and free choice is a good thing) in choosing the kinds of treatment we want and the doctors we want, we even have much easier access to generic drugs than those in other wealthy countries, people who are poor frequently lose access to care that others access without difficulty (beyond what we pay willingly out of pocket), it’s all simultaneously true. We get what we get despite the fact that we have more chronic problems (stemming substantially although not exclusively from our higher rate of obesity, a problem drug companies are now starting to address with Ozempic and similar medicines, maybe a good thing and maybe not). and despite the fact that we drive cars a lot more than people in other wealthy countries, Canada perhaps excepted..

And the funny thing is, in the U.S. all of this is true at the seme time, What is more, the U.S. doesn’t really have a single health-care system, it has several.

So it’s complicated, isn’t it? What should we do then? Ms Taylor-Greene thinks she knows, but she likes to be in the media a lot, so perhaps we should discount the value of her wisdom accordingly.

Fix Insurance?

Chairman Hawley Exposes Major Insurance Companies For Ripping Off Policyholders (May 14, 2025)

It is similar for health insurance.

Remember our wonderful drugs for COVID? And nobody held accountable.

Insurers are subsidized by Obama care. They need to dismantle it. I use concierge medical services, I love it. I keep a major medical plan , in case I get cancer or heart issues.

Medical costs rise because of insurance. It is how the insurance company sustains itself. Make medical costs unaffordable and set up monthly payments called premiums to lessen the burden.

Have you noticed the growth of all things medical since the inception of health insurance? Multiple times greater than the population growth.

Why is that?

And it’s Medicare that is distorting the market. I have no idea how to fix it.
