Slowly but surely, Kiev seems to be adjusting its territorial demands to reality.
In the runup to the Donald J. Trump-Vladimir Putin peace talks in Alaska on Friday 15, Kiev regime leader Volodymyr Zelensky was featured in dozens of news outlets repeating the same line, as we reported yesterday:
The Washington Post: “Ukraine will reject any proposal that involves ceding territory to Russia, Zelensky says”; BBC News: “Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukraine will not give up land as Donald Trump suggests idea ahead of meeting Vladimir Putin in Alaska”; Reuters: “‘Ukrainians will not give their land to occupiers,’ President Zelenskiy said”; The Straits Times: “Zelensky says Ukraine will not cede land to Russia for peace”; Bloomberg: “Zelenskiy Rejects Ceding Land as Key Security Officials Meet”.
But now, it seems that he has clarified that he will not cede land ‘that he still holds.’
The Ukrainian stated goals went down from demanding the 1991 borders back (meaning they’d even want the Crimean Peninsula returned) to making a stand for the 2020 borders (regaining all the 25% of territory lost in the war) and now, they appear to only want to keep of what they still have.
British press is reporting that Ukraine may ‘agree to stop fighting and cede territory already held by Russia’ as part of a plan for peace.
The Telegraph reported:
“Volodymyr Zelensky told European leaders that they must reject any settlement proposed by Donald Trump which sees them giving up Ukrainian land they still hold – but that Ukrainian territory in Russia’s control could be on the table.
This would mean freezing the frontline where it is and handing Russia de-facto control of the territory it occupies in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Crimea.”
“’I have many fears and a lot of hope’, Donald Tusk, Poland’s prime minister, said on Monday. He added that US officials had pledged to consult European leaders ahead of the face-to-face talks between Mr. Trump and Putin.”
As we have reported earlier here in TGP, the opponents of the peace talks are reacting to a plan that, plausible as it seems, has never been officially announced by either the US or Russia.
The supposed peace plan would be endorsed by Moscow, and it included ‘freezing the front lines in south-eastern Ukraine’ (that is, in Kherson and Zaporozhie) if Ukraine ‘agrees to withdraw from areas of Donetsk and Luhansk that it controls’.
Good. I hope Russia gets to keep the land.
China is watching ...
Russia is contemplating next attack.
“Good. I hope Russia gets to keep the land.”

Seeing as the next call-up is for 70 years old, it’s pretty much the end of the line. Maybe they can now tell us all about Burisma and the complete corruption and money laundering operation.
The Europeans gonna have a fit over this...
Putin can probably get Belarus to come back into the fold by just asking nice. The Baltics will be more of a challenge.
Back in the US back in the US back in the USSR.
Lukashenko throws just enough bones to Putin to keep him at bay.
The problem will be if he’s out of power, or there’s chaos, that’s when the Russian tanks move in.
There should be agreed-upon neutrality for both Ukraine and Belarus, or it’s meaningless.
Not bad.
Z’s bosses had no choice but to move, and this is great news.
Don’t be surprised if the Europeans sabotage any peace agreement.
Russia’s friends and supporters live large here on this website.
I have learned more about Russia, its history and how Russians think and act from reading the comments here than I learned in school from grade school through college.
Never saw that coming back in 1997 when I first found FR, but I sure see it now.
Strange days, indeed.
“Your Friends of Russia list neglected to include FreeRepublic.com.”
Yes. I was never on these threads till I started seeing all these pro-Russian posts.
My post was too subtle.
I intended to post “ Your Friends” to him but decided to drop the “Your”.
“(warning map below is 5 months old) “
I once posted a map of occupied territories and asked whether it was 2022 or 2025.
No big difference over three years.
“that’s when the Russian tanks move in.”
Russia has less than 2000 operational tanks and fewer every day.
Wouldn’t take that many to take over Belarus.
1/2 of Ukraine is Russian speaking.
This is a very good solution
And if this was just resolved through NEGOTIATIONS, as every war eventually is finished, could have saved:
Millions of lives.
Trillions of dollars.
Environmental degradation.
Decades of mental illness.
and an entire generation lost for NOTHING!.
But the War Pigs gotta get their vig.
The same gang of demons waving yellow and blue flags, of unlimited Uke support, that want endless 3rd world hordes, chopping off kids body parts, Glo-Bull Whoring, Freeze in the winter and roast in the summer.
The list is endless, and it’s always the same demons.
