Why is the ADP number higher than BLS?
The ADP number is an estimate (based on its extensive payroll records) (ADP is a payroll services company). It’s sometimes higher than and sometimes lower than the BLS number. Of the two numbers, the BLS number is considered definitive; however, it is revised the next month (upon the receipt of late-arriving data) and again annually (when the BLS adjusts its sector weights). I’m sorry for the noise.
The household survey, from which we get the unemployment rate, is more stable; but, isn’t considered as informative as the jobs number from the establishment survey.
We all know the Bidenistas were inflating the hiring numbers with massive gov employee hirings plus counting in illegals.
And a new administration’s policies don’t begin until halfway through the first year of their term.
And many businesses weren’t hiring until they found out what the future tax rates will be.
