Trump announces South Korea trade deal on Truth social
Truth social ^ | Donald Trump

Posted on 07/30/2025 3:32:29 PM PDT by NoLibZone

I am pleased to announce that the United States of America has agreed to a Full and Complete Trade Deal with the Republic of Korea.

The Deal is that South Korea will give to the United States $350 Billion Dollars for Investments owned and controlled by the United States, and selected by myself, as President.

Additionally, South Korea will purchase $100 Billion Dollars of LNG, or other Energy products and, further, South Korea has agreed to invest a large sum of money for their Investment purposes.

This sum will be announced within the next two weeks when the President of South Korea, Lee Jae Myung, comes to the White House for a Bilateral Meeting. I would also like to congratulate the new President on his Electoral Success.

It is also agreed that South Korea will be completely OPEN TO TRADE with the United States, and that they will accept American product including Cars and Trucks, Agriculture, etc.

We have agreed to a Tariff for South Korea of 15%. America will not be charged a Tariff.

I would like to thank the Trade Representatives who came forward today. It was an Honor to meet them, and talk about the Great Success of their Country!

A fair deal all around it appears prima facie.

The deals are all falling into place. The only 3 major trading partners we haven’t struck a deal with yet are China, Canada and Mexico.

President Trump should have made them give back Bobcat. It is an American company and should have stayed here.

********
So the S. Koreans have made Trump their de facto President, who can say: “Give us this, give us that? If it seems too good to be true, it usually is.

I think Trump learned something from Oprah from those days when he used to go on her show.

“You get a trade deal and you get a trade deal and you get a trade deal ...”

By Christmas there won’t be a country on the planet he hasn’t done a trade deal with.
Except maybe Canaduh, but that’s alright they’re bound and determined to be the worst nation on the planet so let ‘em.

They already have U.S. auto manufacturing facilities, so their pledged U.S. investent will just expand on that and avoid additional auto tariifs.

I don’t like the “national government soviet style/mercantilist national government economic planning style of:

“The Deal is that South Korea will give to the United States $350 Billion Dollars for Investments owned and controlled by the United States, and selected by myself, as President”.

What would any respectable GOPer, Conservative said of such a “deal” made by an Obama or Biden????

No, I don’t think this is a good idea:

“for Investments owned and controlled by the United States, and selected by myself, as President.”
