The scandal-scarred independents running for New York City mayor stand little chance against frontrunner Zohran Mamdani — even if the rivals team up against the socialist candidate, a shocking new poll found.
Mamdani, a Queens assemblyman and Democratic nominee, is projected to handily win the November general election with 50% of likely voters in the latest survey, released Tuesday by Zenith Research/Public Progress Solutions.
Ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who has decided to continue his comeback tour after his embarrassing June primary loss to 33-year-old Mamdani, came in a distant second at 22%, while the GOP nominee Curtis Sliwa pulled 13%.
Mayor Eric Adams, who bailed on the Democratic party line after his historic corruption case took months for the Trump administration to kill, failed to muster more than 7% of support.
The poll found that even if Adams or Cuomo had their shot at facing off against the DSA lawmaker one on one, neither would come close to knocking off the current frontrunner.
Cuomo came the closest but still only received 40% to Mamdani’s 55% in a scenario where the other candidates dropped out, according to the poll of 1,000 likely voters.
If Adams squared off solely against Mamdani, the survey had the socialist easily winning 59%-32%.

There may be a silver lining. The country may become so sick to their stomachs seeing this happen in NYC that we could see the Democrat Party so crushed in the midterm elections that the ripple effect will be the needed cultural sea change in the corporate board rooms, academia and public education.

I know a couple of people who were born in NYC over 60 years ago, lived their whole lives there, always voted Republican.
NYC has had ups and downs. I think one reason New Yorkers aren't panicking is because they figure that however bad things get, it can always be fixed again.
* Lindsay broke NYC.
* Beame continued the decline.
* Koch fixed it partly.
* Dinkins broke it again.
* Giuliani made it great again.
* Bloomberg mostly maintained it.
* DeBlasio wrecked it.
* Adams failed to fix it.
He has to be confident if he’s willing to pause campaigning and travel to feast the night away in his posh Uganda enclave the way he has…
His competition is just that weak. 😕
My prayer is for Mayor Adams to pull through by some miracle.

It’s not that. The Dems have been pouring massive numbers of “gibbsmedats” into the major cities. They get the votes because the gibbsmedats want free shit.

True. Mamdani has promised no rent increases, free public transport, and I think even free health care.
He will do a lot of talking and do some really stupid things and make New York a stink pot of San Francisco like policies. Tax the Rich! Free stuff for the poor—right to have people of color take what ever they wish for free. Watch as Jews Flee for their lives. Big business vanishes, banks close. Free Food until—the stores are gone. Gangs like Hamas will rule and bring order. He will be one term. All problems will be blamed on Trump and ICE. It will be sad but fun to watch as the UN leaves for Europe.
