Peru’s embattled president achieved the lowest ratings of her career this month, dropping to an abysmal 1.3% approval rating.
President Dina Boluarte’s approval ratings have been steadily declining, starting the year with a dismal 4% approval rating and constantly decreasing each month by approximately 0.5%. Women approve of her slightly more than men — recording a 1.5% approval rate as opposed to the 1% of men that approve of her.
Boluarte has the worst approval rating among those aged 30-59, with only 0.9% approving of her.
The poll, conducted by El Centro de Investigación Territorial Peru, was conducted by interviewers going door-to-door and uses a sample size of 1,200 people ages 18-70. The poll claims to represent all social and economic classes.
Boluarte ascended to the presidency in December 2022 when her running mate and predecessor, Pedro Castillo, was impeached and arrested on charges of alleged rebellion, according to CNN World. Before Castillo was impeached, she vowed to leave office if he were removed, according to La República. She is the first woman to hold the office and was elected vice president as a member of Peru’s Marxist party, Free Peru, though she has since distanced herself from their platform, according to the New York Times. While she was vice president she was also the minister for development and social inclusion, according to the BBC.
Shortly after Boluarte became president, the Ayacucho massacre occurred, killing 10 people and injuring 61, after protestors tried to take the airport. The attorney general of Peru opened an investigation into Boluarte for alleged genocide and aggravated homicide, and two human rights groups have requested the International Criminal Court to open an investigation into Boluarte, according to La República and CNN.
Central and South America whipsaws between leftist and rightist governance. I get it: American dominance, the original Banana Republics, was often pretty rough, Pinochet and Bautista being prime examples. But in more recent decades the rightists like Bolisanaro and Miele are so much better than governance in places like Venezuela, Nicaragua , Costa Rica, Brazil, and Peru. Yet the voters keep freely voting in commies, with disastrous results
We are going through a period where the meek, shanghaied and led by the power hungry, are trying to inherit the earth. The meek are the tool not the defended by the power hungry. And the meek are in far greater numbers than the intelligent civilized dwellers that in many cases have established an existence in the place the power hungry wish to take over. The US is a perfect example.

We installed her in the last coup. I wonder who the one we’re about to send them to replace her will be?
The real backstory is that the Chinese were building a port in Peru with the approval of the Peruvian government. That’s why we removed the last leader. Perú was canceling the Chinese port facility and trans south America rail project. A few months back they reversed their position and are moving forward with the port again. So we’re starting to see CIA gaslighting stories in preparation for removing her.
South of the border is majority low information uneducated and illiterate. They simply need to hear the usual commie agitprop of “free stuff and it is that guys fault you’re poor” and they vote for the commie every time. Miele is a breath of fresh air. But Argentina is a much more European style population that, at one time, knew what it was like to be prosperous.
We really need to deep-6 the CIA. It should be a ‘sigint’ facility only. No more interfering in foreign countries in any way, shape or form.
I couldn’t agree with you more about Argentina. So much resources, large European- based population. But their flipping back and forth between prosperity and ruinous leftist governance is among the most dramatic of South America. And worst of all they gave us Pope Francis!
Argentina has a very Trumpish leader right now in Miele. If he can finally erase the catastrophic Peronist legacy they may be in for a great decade.
But their flipping back and forth between prosperity and ruinous leftist governance is among the most dramatic of South America. And worst of all they gave us Pope Francis!
And Che Guevara!
A 1.2% popularity rating. A member of their Marxist Party doing Marxist stuff, That pretty much explains it. Hey, she has a future in NYC if their commie drops out of the race
Call in Jim Phelps and his IM force to straighten out things.
They specialize in S American cleansing.
