Doug Mackey announces civil suit against his tormentors—and he’s retained a legal bulldog who knows where the bodies are buried…

Donald Trump Jr. just broke the news in the Douglass Mackey case, and it’s big.

On Donald Trump Jr.’s show, which aired Monday evening on Rumble, Mackey announced that he will be suing the US government for what was done to him. Not only that, but he’s bringing in some serious firepower. Mackey announced that he has retained attorney James Burnham, who previously served as general counsel for DOGE, as well as counsel to the president, the DOJ Civil Rights Division, and the AG’s office.

Back in 2020, right after Joe Biden was installed in the White House, one of the very first things his weaponized DOJ did was launch a political hit job on Douglass Mackey, a conservative influencer who dared to mock Hillary Clinton with a satirical meme during the 2016 election.

The meme was obviously a joke and clearly protected speech. But that didn’t matter. What mattered was the message it sent: mock the regime, and we’ll destroy your life.

So, that’s exactly what the Biden regime did.

Many also believe the Mackey case was a test run. Because if they could twist a meme into a federal crime and throw a young guy in prison, could they also go after a former president?

Turns out, yes. They could. And they did.

The Biden DOJ dragged Douglass through years of hell, treating him like some kind of domestic terror threat. Death by satire? Seriously though, what happened to Doug was unforgivable. He missed the birth of his child, a premature baby with special medical needs, because of this disgraceful, politically driven circus. His life, his reputation, and his family were thrown into chaos, all because he shared a joke the regime didn’t like.

And now, after all the drama, the high price of fighting the Deep State, sleepless nights, trials, and piles of unimaginable stress, just like that, it’s all been tossed out.

In a stunning rebuke of Biden’s DOJ, a bipartisan panel of judges, including those appointed by left-wing presidents, vacated Mackey’s conviction. They saw the case for what it was: a political farce, built on thin air and driven by radical anti-American ideology.

...

And while that was a massive victory for the good guys and for free speech in America, it doesn’t erase the damage. That just victory and vindication doesn’t undo the years stolen from Douglass Mackey’s life or restore the time he lost with his newborn child.

Here’s what Chad Mizelle, a top DOJ official under Pam Bondi, had to say about the case against Mackey:

One of the Biden DOJ’s very first actions—on January 22, 2021, just two days into the Biden administration—was to initiate a criminal prosecution to try to send a self-described X “troll” to federal prison just for posting or reposting three political memes during the 2016 presidential election (four years earlier) that could have hurt Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Last week, almost a decade after Douglass Mackey posted those memes, the Second Circuit has rightly vacated his unjust conviction.

The Second Circuit’s decision cannot undo the last four years of the Biden DOJ’s unjust prosecution. But it is a good first step toward justice for Douglass Mackey, and @TheJusticeDept will work to ensure prosecutions like this do not happen again.

So, the question now is, who pays?

What happens to the Obama holdovers and Biden-era thugs at the DOJ who carried out this unforgivable hit job? Do they just walk away like nothing happened?

Not if Mackey and Burnham have anything to say about it…

Mackey previously hinted at suing the Department of Justice after he won his case, but now this new announcement indicates that he’s bringing in the big guns and is serious about securing justice. In the Trump Jr. interview, Mackey’s attorney made it clear that securing compensation for the damages Mackey endured will be priority number one, and those damages total in the millions in legal fees, lost opportunities, defamation, and untold stress and hardship. However, they’re not stopping there. Burnham told Trump Jr. that he and Mackey will explore suing DOJ attorneys in their personal capacity and filing misconduct complaints with the bar. Burnham also announced that they plan to work with AG Pam Bondi and President Trump’s DOJ to investigate how such a case could have been brought, who originated it, and whose heads need to roll for it.

Burnham is a heavy hitter who recently left DOGE to return to his private practice, King Street Legal, which he says “exists to ensure that righteous cases never falter for lack of financial resources.” Burnham’s King Street Legal practice says that it seeks to support claimants who need to “pursue monetary damages in matters with a measurable social impact.” This case certainly fits the bill.

In response to a question from Trump Jr. asking what real accountability looks like, Burnham explained that he and Mackey will be engaging with AG Bondi, DAG Todd Blanche, Stanley Woodward, Ed Martin, and the rest of the top folks at DOJ to explore what exactly was going on with this investigation, why nobody stopped it, and what remedies exist to hold people accountable. “We’re not going to stop at anything until we make sure there is never another case like this again, ever,” Burnham declared.

Watch:

No doubt, this is a move that will send a chill through the careerists and Biden holdovers still lurking within the DOJ and the FBI. They know Burnham is no joke. He knows how the system works from the inside, and he’s not afraid to turn that knowledge into action. And Burnham and Mackey are aware just how deep this rabbit hole goes—all the way back to Russiagate.

Revolver took interest in this case from day one, labeling it the “most important First Amendment case you’ve never heard of.” We saw what this case really was: a political test balloon to see how far the regime could push its censorship and lawfare agenda.

Now, we are eager to see what Mr. Mackey can uncover as he takes the fight to the DOJ after years on the defense.

We wish him nothing but success in this next chapter and hope he makes an example out of every last tyrant who abused their power and tried to ruin his life.

Because if they can do it to him, they can do it to any of us.

Ok, but suing the US Government now instead of the tormentors who did the damage lets the tormentors off the hook.

But the perps will have to lawyer up, file affidavits, and testify in court.

The process is the punishment.

And after the suit they could be prosecuted for Deprivation Of Rights Under Color Of Law.

The tormentors may not have been punished much, since they were acting as u.s. govt. employees(corrupted as it was by Bidens controllers)

At least that. Hopefully a large punitive judgement, a precedent which could be used against state, county, ad city governments.

Get ‘em. Democrats tried to destroy my life, but failed because God took care of me. He has some surprises waiting for them.

This is great news. We also need deprivation of rights civil suits if not criminal cases for attacking catholics and parents protesting sex transitioning, pornography and drag queen shows at public school boards. The garbage doing this need to pay. These are the genuine American Nazis.

This is exactly why suing them individually won’t work.
They were acting in a professional capacity, on the job.

Agree. It torques me off that taxpayers end up paying for what criminal bureaucrats do. There has to be a way to fix that.

No chance of favorable judgement in DC or NY where the DOJ implemented lawfare.
