That’s even better when you don’t have other “stuff” causing you to have to rush.

As much as there is to see up there, it has to be awesome getting on the road when you can see EVERYthing!

Howdy, luvie.

Sure could have used your weather here today. This was the worst so far and the next two days look to be the same. Ugh!

A very pleasant good Tuesday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Lauren for this morning's thread.

Today is the day I take our pickup for the 130K checkup. We'll see how that goes. Before that, we'll do an early trip to the lake this morning.

Yesterday at the lake:

How's everyone doing this morning?

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

If it was as bad there as it was here, it’s a good thing you and Gizmo headed out real early yesterday. I hope you won’t be out too late in the day to get your truck in for its check-up.

Hey there, radu!

I must say, it wasn’t bad at all. There was a nice breeze that really helped it feel comfortable. It’s 82 right now. I’d go out, but I went out earlier to water the potted plants, and the mosquito squadrons were on attack mode. 🦟🦟🦟

Sorry you were experiencing that kind of heat. I remember that from Georgia, and it just permeates the whole atmosphere. It’s that heavy. Hope it ends sooner rather than later.

A nice breeze does make a difference. That’s what’s gotten me through the mowing I’ve done the past several days. I reeeeeeeally felt the lack of wind this evening. It was still 96 when I went out at 6:00 and the heat index was over 100. It’s still 80 out there now and the humidity is 95%. Dewfall always makes it jump way up at night.

Waiting for Friday and highs only in the upper 80s for several days afterwards.

I’ve been surprised at the lack of mosquitos this summer. They don’t bite me but they buzz around my head, and I’ve had very little of that so far.
You apparently been lucky so far since you’ve been able to spend some deck time in the evenings. Luck does have a bad habit of running out.

I guess mine has run out then, because the little devils seemed to be making up for lost time. LOL! This really is the first time they were so aggressive. I’ll not let it get to me though. We did get the rain that caused them, and I’m very grateful for that! Our yard looks better than it has in a long time.

I don’t know how you managed to be out there in[ that temperature with such a high heat index. It’s a wonder you didn’t get sick at your tummy. You and I have about the same temp now, but ours, with our 58% humidity [which is high for us] makes it feel almost cool. Almost. 😬

Yeah, I’d say the rain you’ve had this month gave the lil devils somewhere to lay lay eggs and now you’re “enjoying” the fruits of their labors.

But it’s been wet here and I have a lake at the back of the farm so I’m not sure why there aren’t gazillions of them here. There doesn’t seem to be a lack of other kinds of bugs. I’m not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth though! LOL

I hydrated pretty well all afternoon and that helped. The majority of the back yard is in shade by 6:00 and that really made a difference. Had I been in the sun the whole time, I wouldn’t have fared well.

It’s going to be nice to stay inside for a bit, and to eat supper at a decent hour! I’m tired of eating at 9:00 or later.

Yeah, and after being out there in the heat and grass flying everywhere, it sort of takes your appetite away. Or at least it would mine.

I guess I’d better head out. I’m really sleepy tonight. See ya tomorrow!

It isn’t so much taking my appetite away. I’ve been starting late and by the time I’m done, it’s around 8:00. A quick shower, then fix something to eat. Today, I made a quick Wal Mart run as soon as I finished. Had to do that before they send the cashiers off and go to all self-checkout. It was 9:30 before I ate supper tonight. TOO late.

Just came in from dead-heading the petunias. It’s almost pleasant out there now with a kiss of a breeze.

Sleep well. Catch ya tomorrow for the quiz.
