A migrant who came to America as a boy 20 years ago is set to be deported after accidentally missing an exit on the freeway in Southern California and winding up in Mexico...
Hernandez's family and attorney told NBC San Diego that he was working as a rideshare driver on June 1 when he missed a freeway exit in San Ysidro and found himself in Tijuana.
‘And when that happened, he lost everything, basically,' his immigration lawyer, Valerie Sigamani, toldthe outlet.
DACA recipients need to apply for 'advance parole' to travel internationally and return to the US.
Since Hernandez didn't have prior permission to leave and return to the country, his DACA status was stripped when he crossed the border.
Now, he's being held at Otay Mesa Detention Center and undergoing an expedited removal deportation process to El Salvador.

Too stupid to be an illegal.
If the US had taken the process of naturalization seriously, instead of letting illegals stay in the country, he would have been on the path of naturalization in all this time.
He could have missed a curve and ended up hitting an 18 wheeler and showing up in Heaven or Hell... I think he should be glad that for awhile he gets to stay on Earth...in Mexico. This has to be GOD.
Hahaha - ICE should put up a ‘Free Food - Next Exit ‘ Sign there …
Only 50 million to go...
I guess he didn’t bother learning much English here. After all, one doesn’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand a sign that says LAST EXIT IN UNITED STATES.
“Otay Mesa Detention Center”
…proudly owned and operated by Buckwheat.
I can relate to this. I was on the freeway, probably San Diego, and read the highway signs. I was suddenly scared that I might end up in Mexico and immediately exited and re-entered the highway going north. Big city highway driving can be bad enough, if it’s not your city. There are special issues at the border!
In 1969 Berlin, the subway did not pause between the last stop in West Berlin and the first stop in East Berlin.
There was no underground Checkpoint Charlie.
We soldiers were warned of this and were admonished not to miss getting off the subway before it went to the east side.
If we were to remain in the train we would be captured and incarcerated.
Why are they using pig latin?
Now he can celebrate his true culture and heritage by visiting a Tijuana donkey show.
ICE should put up a ‘Free Food - Next Exit ‘ Sign there …
lol
I live near an international border and the road signs are in excruciating detail and start 5 miles from the border. As you get closer the road lanes themselves are painted “USA” and “Canada” in 18 inch high letters, like three times. This dude had the situational awareness of a potato.

LOL! Especially stupid since they have places to turn around before actually crossing the border.....
Of all of the “things that didn’t happen, this one gets a top spot , maybe even the #1 position.
One does not “miss an exit” and suddenly find oneself in Tijuana. He went through the Mexican security and had ample opportunities to turn around.
A CBP Officer demanded an $800 bribe to allow his return?
(Great idea to discredit the border officers)
To add to the sympathy idea, this grown, 34 yr old man that has lived in America for 20 years thought that this “bribe” was a legitimate fee?
(We don’t need anymore idiots, we have plenty)
Finally, he has a daughter and a son on the way.
(Of COURSE he does)
Just another “family man” unjustly targeted by Trump.
The corrupt ‘press’ never does pity party stories for American victims of illegals... No boo hoos for Americans.
Sounds like a great plan - hire a bus full of illegals for $50 bucks a day, take them to Mexico and give them $50 bucks each.
Why I hate freeways == the possibility of missing an exit.
Maybe he couldn’t read the signs?
Now he can get reacquainted with all his relatives.
