Samuel Doria Medina leads with 21.76%, followed very closely by Jorge Tuto Quiroga, who reaches 20.70%.

Bolivia holds its election on August 17th.

Each of the top two in the poll is from the right of center. Medina is a businessman and Quiroga a career politician.

While things could change, it looks like these two fellows will qualify for the run-off, and that Bolivia will turn from its recent string of revolutionary left presidents.

The remaining vote is very splintered, with just less than 40% going to actual parties (probably mostly leftist—with the biggest share being just over 10%) and 20% going to “blank ballot” or “undecided”.

I doubt it. Ranked voting is a first-world luxury. It sounds to me that they have a run-off between the top two, which is a poor man’s version of ranked voting———and in some cases better than the primary system as employed in some states.
