President Donald Trump announced Tuesday he had reached a settlement with CBS and Paramount triggered by a 60 Minutes interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
'We have just achieved a BIG AND IMPORTANT WIN in our Historic Lawsuit against 60 Minutes, CBS, and Paramount,' Trump wrote on Truth Social. 'Just like ABC and George Slopadopoulos, CBS and its Corporate Owners knew that they defrauded the American People, and were desperate to settle.'
Trump said that Paramount/CBS/60 Minutes paid $16 million in the settlement and anticipated an additional $20 million from the new owners of CBS in advertising, PSAs or similar programming.
'This is another in a long line of VICTORIES over the Fake News Media, who we are holding to account for their widespread fraud and deceit,' Trump wrote. 'The Wall Street Journal, The Failing New York Times, The Washington Post, MSDNC, CNN, and all other Mainstream Media Liars, are ON NOTICE that the days of them being allowed to deceive the American People are OVER. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!'

Doesn’t sound like nearly enough.
+ a Colbert!
The Trump Library will be bigger and more beautiful than anyone’s seen before! LOL
an additional $20 million from the new owners of CBS in advertising, PSAs or similar programming.
Total amount less than the 40 mill or so they were losing yearly with Colbert....sets a precedent .. don’t misrepresent real information....
Trump must have had a mole in the video editing room, how else would he have known....Paramount knew Trump could prove his case so they settled ..
Considering they lose 40 million a year with Colbert, this sounds like a sweetheart deal. SeeBS will make this up in one year.
...this seems like chump change.
CBS and Paramount Global are involved in multiple settlements, including a significant class action lawsuit and ongoing negotiations related to a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump.
Class Action Settlement
Settlement Amount: Paramount Global has agreed to a $120 million settlement related to allegations that the offering materials for its stock contained false and misleading statements, particularly concerning its relationship with Archegos Capital Management. This settlement resolves claims that the underwriters of Viacom’s 2021 stock offerings violated the Securities Act of 1933.
1
Eligibility: Shareholders who purchased or acquired ViacomCBS Class B Common Stock or 5.75% Series A Mandatory Convertible Preferred Stock in the specified offerings are eligible for payouts, which are estimated to be around $10.00 or more per share for common stock and $0.50 or more per share for preferred stock.

Lawsuit with Donald Trump
Background: Paramount is reportedly nearing a settlement with Donald Trump over his claim that CBS “deceptively manipulated” a pre-election interview with Kamala Harris on “60 Minutes.” Trump is seeking at least $20 billion in damages, although the lawsuit has been described as frivolous by many experts.
2
Negotiations: The Paramount board has outlined acceptable financial terms for a potential settlement, indicating a desire to resolve the issue quickly to facilitate a merger with Skydance Media. Mediation sessions are set to begin, and the company is eager to move past the controversy.

Shareholder Lawsuits
Settlement with Shareholders: Paramount Global has also reached a $167.5 million settlement in a derivative suit brought by CBS shareholders against former officers and directors, including allegations of breaches of fiduciary duties related to the 2019 merger of CBS and Viacom.
1
Previous Settlements: In addition to the recent settlement, Paramount had previously agreed to pay $122.5 million to resolve consolidated shareholder claims regarding the CBS-Viacom merger, which was seen as unfair by some shareholders.

These settlements reflect ongoing legal challenges faced by Paramount Global and CBS, as well as their efforts to resolve disputes with shareholders and high-profile individuals.
This is only a 0.9 Colbert on the CBS loss scale, so maybe not a big deal for them.
“””The Trump Library will be bigger and more beautiful than anyone’s seen before! LOL”””
BIG HUGE Nobody has ever seen anything like it.
It will be like the Taj Mahal and Hearst castle combined— but twice as big and way more beautiful!
It’s bigliness and beauty will make Obama’s library look like a WWII German flak tower!
>It already looks like ...
Oh, yeah.
how does that play out?
______
Make them give him air time for Presidential statements on how bad the media is.
plus he get Colbert to function as a greeter at his presidential library when it opens...
It should be 136 million.
It may not seem like all that much money but the big part by paying this they are admitting guilt.
The Donald is putting the spurs to these [Expletives deleted].
Ain’t it great?
I still think canning him was part of the deal.
