This simpleton ran for the House last November; he knew he had a two year commitment yet he runs out of it after just six months of service. There was another boob on the R side from Ohio who did the same thing in the previous session - quit after a few months to become chancellor of some state college. Where do these terrible candidates come from on the R side?
“Abbott refuses to call a special election for Sylvester Turners seat, leaving his Harris Co district without representation”
Too bad- hochul refused to call a special election after Elise Stefanik was named Ambassador to the UN by President Trump as the seat was a definite “R” and of course Stefanik had to return to Congress.....tit for tat...

This kind of stuff is why I think Abbott would be a good President. HE doesn’t talk trash, but he plays hardball.
...(2) Timing of special election
A special election held under this subsection to fill a vacancy shall take place not later than 49 days after the Speaker of the House of Representatives announces that the vacancy exists, unless, during the 75-day period which begins on the date of the announcement of the vacancy-
(A) a regularly scheduled general election for the office involved is to be held; or
(B) another special election for the office involved is to be held, pursuant to a writ for a special election issued by the chief executive of the State prior to the date of the announcement of the vacancy...
How/when do these vacancies get filled? By whom?
The ‘when’ depends on state law governing special elections. Some states give the governor lots of leeway when it comes to ‘when’; other states not so much.
He can do that?

They’re Marxist-Democrats bribed to run as Republicans
“He served 3 terms”
_____
Didn’t he just re-up?
Two bad there weren’t 212 D deaths needing replacement a long with 15 or 20 R-INO deaths needing replacement.
I was hoping this was about Al Green, you know, the older DEM congressman from Texas who is always about to impeach Trump for blinking his eyes.
When it was created, Congress was not meant to be a full-time job. Mark Green acknowledged that to me when he was running for office the first time. The elected official was supposed to go back home to his regular job when Congress wasn't in session. I wouldn't want to stay up there for long, myself.
Good to know that you know him.

“You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.”
3 terms and he gets his Congressional Pension.
Almost as good as Higher Ed “Tenure”.
So he’s a Republican?
Nothing in this thread so far tells me that, unless I missed it.
